Ashes to Oranges is an independent hard rock band from Ocean County, NJ comprised solely of members Tyler Schafer (guitar/vocals) and Joseph Edwards (drums). Shying away from the conventional drum/guitar/bass setup, Ashes to Oranges gives new life to a tired cliche in rock music. Drawing influence from Local H, Queens of the Stone Age and Incubus, you can hear a distinct call back to a time of simple melodies and hard hitting lyrics. Their stage show brings you from a slow shuffle to a full on mosh depending on the tune, and their fingers are never too far from the pulse either, as they have been known to throw in a modern pop cover or two to keep the mood light and playful.
With the help of producer Dan Matthews, the band recorded 4 tracks from the upcoming EP Inanimate Animals. Their sound has been described as "calculated chaos" and "A great attempt at Evoking the feeling of the first time mom or dad let you say 'fuck' as a kid after something bad happened." They're not rude, they're not crass, but they make you want to be.
