South African born, UK raised Ash Howell has forged a following of thousands over the past 10 years. A musical genius on the big stage with a distinctive style of laying down the funky, chunky beats, heavily laden with samples and acapellas, he weaves his way through genre after genre defying the stereo-typical laws of free flow, creating a unique experience that never repeats itself. He’s one of few, true djs today that believe entirely in making things up as he goes along, never playing a fixed set list, or mass editing his tracks to make things easier for himself, the results are of a level you would expect from the opposite but with a dynamic twist that holds the bar up high. Ghetto Funk, Breaks and Drum & Bass line themselves up head on and collide for an action packed fusion of elements from the off. Basement raves, high calibre club nights and festival stages alike are all susceptible to the Ash Howell treatment and when it all kicks off you know your in the right place. Having supported so many world renowned acts over the years on multiple occasions, Kissy Sell Out, Krafty Kuts & A Skillz, Pendulum, Utah Saints, Annie Mac, Scratch Perverts, Grooverider, Stanton Warriors, Chase & Status, Gorgon City, Elite Force & The Dub Pistols amongst many others, its fair to say they are just a small part of the influences and experiences he’s taken away as he’s developed year upon year.

Its not just on the stage that he sets himself apart. As a promoter he’s helped the Lowdown & Dirty team to 3 nominations and 2 wins of the Best Small Club Event award at The International Breakbeat Awards, and as a producer he beat off competition from every continent to win the Government Lies remix competition on Canadian based Breakz R Boss Records. With releases out on various labels and a busy schedule both in the studio and on the road theres a special kind of work ethic and passion creating the motivation thats at play here. Its this passion for what he does that has led to his annual residency at The Kendal Calling Festival, ( Winner of multiple Best Small Festival & Best Medium Sized Festival Awards ) and has no doubt led him across Europe on several occasions and will only carry him further in the years to come.
