A piano piece written in the key of G# minor, primarily in 4/4. This piece was written all the way back in 2017. I wrote this piece in college to express my feelings of depression. Every individual has gone through things within their life that have challenged their mental wellbeing. The title "Not A Myth" is related to saying that depression is not a myth. Any kind of mental anguish should be felt and heard. 

Not A Myth

A full orchestra piece written in the key of C minor, primarily in 6/8. Sometimes, when I write my music, I can't quite describe the feeling I am trying to create. This piece is an instance of that. I titled it "The Falling of a Star" to capture a grandeur feeling. I like to think that the title and the powerful emotions of this song tie in together. It can be associated with a cataclysmic event such as a star falling onto the Earth. Or, it can be associated with the feelings of a negative event in one's life. I feel this song anytime I am feeling overwhelmed by inner turmoil.

A short gloomy, waltz style piano piece. This piece was written in 9/8 in the key of D minor. I had written this piece to describe the feeling of growing distant to your once close family, the ache and feeling of loss that accompanies that. 

When the House Forgot my Name

A full orchestra piece written in the key of A minor, primarily in 6/8.  When I went to write this piece, I was inspired by the ever popular "Dies Irae". It can be heard throughout the piece. This piece, although very centered around death themes, was not written with any specific emotive intent. In fact, I only named it "Death of a Butterfly" as I had used the "Dies Irae" and had a lot of flittering upper lines that reminded me of butterflies. However, in hindsight, I like to associate it with bringing meaning to something, even if it is as small of a butterfly dying. Similar to how the notion of the "butterfly effect" is perceived in talks of time.

This is a full orchestra piece full of fantasy and adventure. It is written in 12/8 in the key of D major. I wrote this piece when I was really into reading fantasy books, playing D&D, and overall enjoying fantasy aesthetics.

Echoes of Forgotten Realms

A concert band piece written in the key of Eb major, primarily in 4/4. This piece was commissioned and performed by Southeastern Women in Music in 2023. When we began our collaboration, they gave me free reign on the piece as they had liked my style of writing. The only request they had was to make it memorable. Personally, I often daydream. Multiple times a day, I will find myself lost in inner fantasies and worlds. In this piece, I tried to capture the freeing feeling of this. It is meant to feel hopeful, untethered, and adventurous. Enjoy a whimsical, sleepless dreamland.
