I made this rework as a companion to the original - which for me evoked classic blues, New Orleans flavours, voodoo and mortality. 
A few shady characters have this track on their hard drives already, and I've been playing it out to great acclaim.

Out Hear Audio is back with another far out offering for the modern dancefloor. The second release for the label this year following the killer Yambee "Chemical Love / Natural Off". 

Cambridge based producer Dave Rendle aka System Status has been involved in music since the mid nineties and producing seriously since May 2010. It was Daves creation under the System Status moniker that caught the attention of Untracked Recordings. Released on said label in November 2010 with the rock solid slice of bare bones disco "Montparnasse" on the flip, "Downtime" was Daves debut single and a lifetime goal achieved and crystalised in limited wax. 

Dave has now emerged with the track "Take Root" from his concept project 'The Detroit Urban Gardening Ensemble'. The track took inspiration and samples from the Julien Temple documentary 'Requiem for Detroit' about the decay and industrial collapse of Americas fourth largest city. Ashley Beedle heard "Take Root" while on the way to a gig with Dave and infamous Nottingham DJ/Promoter Beane Noodler. Ashley loved the track and thought it would be perfect for Out Hear Audio and after a few pound coins were exchanged the deal was done! "Take Root" comes in its original spellbinding form of aural art and Beedle throws in a lovely rework for the beatheads – rocking out the drums and cutting back the vocal samples while adding his trademark magic. The track is an analogue funky squelch for the modern soulboy.

It’s been over a year since Ashley Beedle brought you the critically and commercially acclaimed YARDISM EP on Raf (2 Bears) and Toddla T’s Girls Music imprint and now it’s time for Round Two.

The Yardism EP received mega feedback across the board from DJ’s as diverse as Gilles Peterson, Ross Allan, Annie Mac, Toddla T, Disclosure, Ben Westbeech, Joe Goddard (Hot Chip), Zed Bias and T.Williams. Radio support came from BBC Radio1, BBC 6 Music, Rinse FM, NTS and stations

has been a constant through Ashley’s career.

Hailing from Paris, the 20 year old Strandtuch is studying Art in London whilst continuing with his production and DJing duties.  Starting 3 years ago using Ableton Live, a couple of plug-ins plus an Akai MPK MINI, Strandtuch is now beginning to move into analog production - a few little synths here and a Roland MC 303 there.  The results can be heard on his debut ‘COPA’ EP, which draws influences from Funk, Hip-Hop as well as Old & NuSkool House & Techno. 

The title track ‘COPA’ leads you into an EP that is full of surprises - subtle changes of direction starting with wonderfully dark and warm repetitive riffs that embed themselves into your psyche.  Showing a great understanding of past musical eras, ‘Detroit 84’ with its simple but soulful vocal gives a nod towards the halcyon days of Detroit House and Techno with house legened, Ashley Beedle on remix duties for the vocal and beats versions. ‘Curlz’ ups the tempo and the result is a track with an incessant 4/4 beat with some jazzy riffs thrown in for good measure and closes Strandtuch’s EP in style. DB Cohen’s ‘Find A Way’ is filled with reggae goodness from beginning to end. DB Cohen's sound can be described as a mix of Bob Dylan, Ray Davies, Madness, The Stones and Two Tone Ska. During a four year stay in Japan, Dan began writing and performing his own songs and after forming the band 'The Dogs Bollox', he played the Tokyo club circuit learning his trade.  On returning to London in 2008, it was in Soho's Madame JoJo's where DB approached Snowboy at his ‘Good Foot’ night and asked Mark to listen to his demo. Within six months, Snowboy was producing Dan’s debut album, bringing a wealth of knowledge and amazing musicians to DB Cohen's analog recorded debut album 'Scratchcards & Wine'. 

Tracks from 'Scratchcards & Wine' were championed by Gary Crowley on his ‘Absolute’ radio show, featured on ‘BBC Introducing’, the French version of the hit TV show 'The Voice' and chosen by Bang and Olufson to feature on their recent promotional video. Dan was also added to Glastonbury Festival's ‘2014 Emerging Talent Competition’, performed for 17,000 on the main stage at the Village Green Festival and headlined London's famous 100 Club earning him rave reviews.

F*CLR Music are proud to present Irish producer/DJ, Glenn Davis and his debut 5 track digital release with F*CLR -  a deep soulful affair aimed firmly at the dance floor fusing his love of all things Chicago, Detroit & NYC. The title track ‘Body & Soul’ has its roots firmly in the Strictly Rhythm/Nu Groove groove – a lush, organ driven banger that is guaranteed to incite hands in the air mayhem. Ashley Beedle & the North Street crew put a different spin on ‘Body & Soul’ giving it a spaced out, Balearic feel while ‘I ain’t got nothing’ has got attitude and then some. The held string, melancholy chords and beautifully ethereal vocals take you to that tiny, dimly lit backstreet club in your mind - you’ve all been there – the one you never want to leave. The gasping interjections on ‘I feel it’ are underpinned by ominous synths while ‘Emotional Intelligence’ takes you in an even darker Detroit direction. The whole EP is beautifully crafted by Glenn and has already had major props from the likes of Terry Farley and Gilles Petereson.

Earliest musical influences come from The Jam, James Brown, Motown and 80's New Wave and at 16, Glenn got the vinyl bug and when Mark Dixon opened Dublin’s Phuture Groove Records in the mid 90’s, he was able to indulge in his passion for deep house & techno. Labels like Balance, Prescription, U Star, MA, Ibadan, Planet E, Op Art, 100% Pure and Ferox all helped shape his later compositions.

Glenn's first gig was playing for the D1 Records night in early 2000's - primarily a Detroit techno night featuring some of the upcoming DJs from the techno underground - UR, DJ Bone, Octave One Claude Young and Rub a Dub Records. In 2005, he got together with his mates and, inspired by trips to the legendary Southport Soul Weekender, they formed Groovement Soul running club nights with a deeper, soulful jazz house sound and bringing some of their favourite DJ’s to play in Dublin.

Over the last 15 years, Glenn has had residencies in Dublin, played at the Oxygen & Electric Picnic festivals, represented at the 2013/14 Southport Weekenders and played alongside DJ’s including Recloose, Dr Bob Jones, Benji B, Kev Beadle, Moscow producer Lay Far and Thatmanmonkz.

In October 2017, Manchester based Ele Records released an EP featuring Glenn’s ‘Holdin’ On’ track and ‘Planet Rock’ by the mighty Byron the Aquarius.

With a roster of 10 fresh DJ/producers including Merick, Supply, Zaspéro, Tonte Concept, VNZT, Divali, DJ Timchef, Moher, Kuppeil and Blazers, Nymphony can be looked towards for future generations of Gallic groove gurus.

Blazers is a 23year old French DJ/producer living in Paris who learnt music theory and how to drum at the age of 4 and throughout his formative years, he borrowed his parents' CDs and sister's Ipod, discovering artists such as St Germain, Herbie Hancock and Daft Punk. Having deepened his knowledge in various genres, his first DJ sets were before he left high school and gaining confidence, Blazers started production using Ableton taking his inspiration from Kerri Chandler, Roy Ayers and A Tribe Called Quest. He started releasing edits and his own songs on Soundcloud for free D/L and in 2015, Blazers signed with French label Nymphony Records, releasing his first and second EPs which came to the attention of F*CLR label boss, Jo Wallace who promptly licensed his ‘Groove Sequence’ EP. Blazers is now DJing all over Europe with the likes of house luminaries Louie Vega and Detroit Swindle and following in the footsteps of Pepe Braddock, Cassius, I-Cube, Daft Punk and a whole pantheon of French producers, expect big things.

Glenn Davis returns to F*CLR for his 3rd EP on the label and all I can say is that this EP is an absolute killer. It’s been almost impossible to keep the lid on this house track of epic proportions for the last 12 months. Simple, effective and deadly, Ashley Beedle dropped the original on dubplate at one of the now legendary ‘Heavy Disco’ parties at the beginning of 2020 and the crowd lost their minds. Shazam went into meltdown and nobody could find the answer!

Glenn’s original harks back to the halcyon days of classic New York house - think Masters at Work, think Kerri Chandler, think Tony Humphries, think ‘category is taking it to church’. This is what ballroom beats are all about – attitude, realness and taking no prisoners. It really is a thing of beauty and has already gone into the realms of ‘classic’ with all the heads who have had the dubplate. It is the distillation of everything good about true house music – it remains faithful to the early pioneers’ vision of what they hoped house music would become.

Once again, the ‘North Street’ crew, Ashley Beedle, Darren Morris and Jo Wallace, flip the script on their ‘North Street West’ remix of ‘Special’ and inject a late 80’s toughness into the groove while bringing it bang up to date with chopped beats, nasty piano and a jacking tempo that ‘werks’ Glenn’s original track.
