Characterised by a discernible signature of harmonious yet implicit tensions, DJ and producer Hayden Payne’s (aka Phase Fatale) contentious palette of both precise sonic and narrative elements shape his world of techno. Presenting his second EP of 2024, ‘Altars’, the BITE Label boss forecasts a confessional state looking onto a decomposing world through the perspective of frenetic energy, evolving polyrhythmic sequences and fleshy dancefloor vigour. 

Built on a trifecta of three original productions, as well as two featured remixes from Kangding Ray and Setaoc Mass, the extended play is a walk through of Phase Fatale’s cadence for dancing around the structural framework of his tracks with superlative control, entwining rhythms from contrasting metres of electronic composition. Altars’ production of electric reverberation follows a trajectory of cybernetic kicks, stabs of short circuit zaps and heartbeat style drum loops embellished by the serene textures of euphoric gleams and sensual chords, augmenting a sonic motif of dystopian salvation. 

The remixes fortify the body of works gritty soundscape with Kangding Ray’s complex sound aesthetics delivering a frantic buzz of sonic tachycardia and Setoac Mass’ experimental spliced shrapnel from the tracks origin creating murky, blizzard-like scatterings. Walking a fine line between themes of the divine and sacrilegious, Phase Fatale’s conscious composition of hedonistic, multi-layered techno and complex world-building narratives further emphasises his production's structure and geometry.

The time has finally come to have Kwartz in this house again and we couldn’t be more satisfied with the quality of the work he has delivered. It is clear that his new residency at the best techno club on the planet, Berghain, has helped his inspiration multiply exponentially and this is definitely reflected in this brand new work that leaves us wanting more.

Four slices of techno with all the letters, which define exactly what the genre should be without seasonal additives, dynamic electronic dance music, without an expiration date, which could be signed thirty years ago or in the distant future.

Mario does not entertain himself with extreme speeds, nor with predictable developments, nor with pre-cooked sounds. His approach to musical creation is slow and artisanal, meditating and maturing each of the ingredients he uses, without fear of being left out of the media radar.

This entire procedure is reflected in the excellent result, The Golden Hour is a perfect example of everything said above. Strong and firm rhythms, constantly evolving arrangements, elaborate sound design and a firm dance attitude.

Enter The Zone turns the rhythm towards broken bass drums, slightly presses the accelerator and introduces disturbing atmospheres combined with organic percussion details in a masterful way. A true catalyst for expert mixers.

On side B, Under Control once again breaks tradition with a broken, hypnotic and continuous rhythm, a first-rate brain driller for the club's peak moments.

The EP ends with Animal Instinct, which does not lower the intensity one bit, adding an overwhelming rhythm with dynamic percussive details, with no room for rest, perfect for the dancers to travel to unknown dimensions.

Nightfall is a Warsaw DJ, distinguished by his unique selection of techno, driven by energetic and hypnotic groove. He was infected with classic techno in the early 2000s. During his sets, he focuses on quality and originality. Entering the stage at a mature age allowed him to look at music and the role of the artist in a unique, unusual way.
Despite his short presence on stage, he has already played before Ellen Allien and Hekato. He has performed at Smolna38, Luzztra, Transformator, Cel, Prozak 2.0, Noce KRK, Willi w Parku and Hala Odra.
A graduate of the Institute of Sound, he believes in the principle "Techno is not about BPM. It is all about groove". Music is his passion and playing is a way to express the emotions that lie dormant within him.

Podczas swoich setów stawia na jakość i oryginalność. Wejście na scenę w dojrzałym wieku pozwoliło mu spojrzeć na muzykę i rolę artysty w wyjątkowy, niecodzienny sposób.

The Scottish born, London based composer/ DJ and co-founder of Duplicity Records, has embedded his meticulous sound on some of techno’s most respected and historical imprints including, ARTS, Soma, and Illegal Alien. Each release being a statement of time and dedication to pushing his sonic vision. 

Gaining support from the masters of dance floor narration, Essentia’s early discography has been supported by the likes of DVS1, Rødhad, and James Ruskin and delivered to some of the most demanding parties including Berghain, De School and Radion. As an artist and performer, his unique output comes only from attention to detail, respect, and time immersed within the underground club culture.

Since cutting his teeth at Sony Music London as a mastering engineer in the late ’90s, he’s paved his way unapologetically, often challenging audiences in his relentless pursuit of pure artistry. His stark tracks exude an unbiased confidence that effortlessly commands the dance floor, ripening into quintessential classics. At a deeper glance, his music reveals an unseen complexity that seems to defy time and space—meticulously arranged and fervently produced with technical mastery.

Initially debuting on Steve Bicknell’s Cosmic Records, he became the principal artist of Token Records, eventually launching his own Modwerks label. Besides a steady stream of critically acclaimed releases under his solo moniker, Ø [Phase]’s expansive projects include ongoing collaborations with Luke Slater as Roog Unit and Phyxix alongside Matrixxman. He’s co-produced iconic tracks with UK legends Underworld and crafted definitive remixes for the likes of Robert Hood, Scuba, and Rødhåd, but his momentum won’t stop there.
