Back in one of my favourite clubs ever… Nordstern in Basel. For those who haven't been there, it is a boat and has the best layout a club can possibly have. Amazing sound system, huge dance floor, DJ booth on almost the same level at the end of the room, all black and amazing lights and visuals – a perfect place to get lost in the groove. This time I played an all night long set, started at 1 and ended at some point after 6. This week´s AMFM 419 is actually the 4th hour of my set, next week´s show will contain the 5th and last. Stockholm-born DJ, producer and label member Joel Mull has spent over three decades shaping the global techno landscape, being recognised as a key figure in the pioneering wave of Swedish techno artists. Joel is renowned for his versatility, working under multiple aliases: Icarus, Gotzkowsky and most recently, Damm, where he channels his passion for ambient and electronica. As a member and contributor of the Swedish label Parabel, Joel continues to innovate the scene with his emotive and melodic productions. 

Joel’s productions evoke a sense of nostalgia, blending deep, downtempo rolling basslines with ethereal ambient textures and harmonic synths. This mix is driving, uptempo and seamlessly fuses rhythms with intricate synth melodies.

This mix was recorded live from Reaktor's Katharsis event in 2017.  For those that don't know, Katharsis happens once a year and is dedicated to the faster, harder and more industrial side of techno.  This was my entire 3 hour set from that night.

Over the last few years we have built a steady relationship doing events together and sharing our passion for this music.  We are teaming up once again for ADE 2018 and releasing this mix as a thank you to all our followers and supporters.

Raised in the outskirts of Berlin, Fadi Mohem developed a passion for electronic music at a young age. His studies in Sound Engineering and the subsequent work as a Mix & Recording Engineer improved his technical skills and the sound of his own productions. Instead of following trends, Fadi Mohem always seeks to fulfil his own sound ideals. Influenced by early Detroit Techno and Berlin Dub Techno, Drum & Bass, Dubstep and IDM, he likes to break the frame. He demonstrated all this on his Glitch Club Series debut in 2019, instantly becoming a Glitch favourite.

He is just as impressive across the course of this set as he cooks up an intense ride through his deep affinity with Detroit techno and pumping rhythmics that will leave you out of breath.

Ø [Phase] has been a driving force in techno for over two decades, leading the movement with his prototypical, stripped-back sound. Since cutting his teeth at Sony Music London as a mastering engineer in the late ’90s, he’s paved his way unapologetically, often challenging audiences in his relentless pursuit of pure artistry. His stark tracks exude an unbiased confidence that effortlessly commands the dance floor, ripening into quintessential classics. At a deeper glance, his music reveals an unseen complexity that seems to defy time and space—meticulously arranged and fervently produced with technical mastery.

Initially debuting on Steve Bicknell’s Cosmic Records, he became the principal artist of Token Records, eventually launching his own Modwerks label. Besides a steady stream of critically acclaimed releases under his solo moniker, Ø [Phase]’s expansive projects include ongoing collaborations with Luke Slater as Roog Unit and Phyxix alongside Matrixxman. He’s co-produced iconic tracks with UK legends Underworld and crafted definitive remixes for the likes of Robert Hood, Scuba, and Rødhåd, but his momentum won’t stop there. Catch him touring extensively, headlining events at ADE, Berghain, Dekmantel, Fabric, and diverse cities across the globe.
