Ashley Palmer - Missing Letters and Broken Sentences

"I decided before I went into the studio that I wanted to completely strip back this album to literally me and an acoustic guitar. I think that if you can pull off a song and make an impact on someone without having anything other than you and your instrument then that proves that you're a good vocalist and that you can write lyrics that appeal to people. I came to this conclusion after watching the likes of Noel Gallagher and Liam Fray play acoustic sets without their bands and get a really good reaction from people.

The other reason is I can reproduce this live. The last time I recorded an album I added in loads of automated band members which meant that when i played live the songs were completely different. This time they'll sound pretty much as they do on the album.

Some of the songs are brand new and some are reworked versions of songs I've been playing for years. I'm gonna release two singles in the run up to the album, each will include a B-side and maybe a live recording or something previously unheard.

Thanks to Craig Burnett for taking the time out to do all the recording and mixing the tracks, and to Thomas Foster for artwork! Also, Cheers to everyone at Access To Music in Lincoln for teaching me how to do this kinda thing properly...now its time to put it all into play!

The first single from the upcoming EP titled northern ignorance. A simple song is a fly on the wall look at the attitudes and opinions of people in the UK recently, and the way that music can be seen as a means to get away from the issues in every day life.

The B-side to 'A Simple Song' an old track that was written to be on the 'Missing Letters and Broken Sentences' album but was never used.
