For Samuel Evans, or Rain Dog, creating this album was a vast experiment to combine different attempts of blending more traditional elements of song writing and composition with the more contemporary influences of modern electronic dance and bass music, all within the confines of his computer and chair...

Being compelled by melody and variation, Rain Dog, by his own admission, never had much talent for songwriting in terms of lyrics. To circumvent this, however, he focuses on creating a narrative within the music through the combination of synth work and samples. He starts with anything that sparks an interest or emotion in him - Tom Waits, Joni Mitchel, Ella Fitzgerald, Portico Quartet and moments from movies, samples like these usually work as a foundation for the tracks. He then adds layers of unique and organic synth sounds (a notion he finds quite interesting when working entirely from a digital platform) before eventually completing the production with the beat. He likes his music like a nice pie - warm, hearty, and crusty.

Blitz the Ambassador releases his second single from the highly anticipated album 'Afropolitan Dreams' (Available April 28th). The song 'Make You No Forget' features Afro-Beat luminary Seun Kuti over classic HipHop drums and infectious African Highlife/Afro-Beat Guitars.

Afropolitan Dreams is the follow up to Blitz the Ambassador's critically acclaimed album 'Native Sun' and features Grammy-winning “queen of African music” Angelique Kidjo, German/Nigerian soul/hip hop songstress Nneka, Brazilian hip hop star Marcelo D2,  French/Malian lyricist Oxmo Puccino and more.

Video shoots in Accra, Ghana to be released next week.

Délicieuse vous dévoile aujourd'hui la quatrième release sortie sur notre label Délicieuse Records. Nous partons à la rencontre du duo français Hot Steppa, composé de Félix & Vincent, qui nous avait depuis bien longtemps tapé dans l'œil. La France bouge et c'est un plaisir d'y contribuer.

Hot Steppa nous propose de rentrer dans son univers avec, dans un premier temps, le titre 'Fayen'. Avec une attention particulière portée sur le détail, on aime les guitares cinglantes qui se marient à merveille avec l'ambiance ethnique que dégage ce chant deep et original qui devrait vous faire voyager…

C'est tout naturellement que le producteur berlinois Florian Rietze, dont nous vous avons déjà parlé, a posé sa patte sur le morceau avec ce 'Fayen Florian Rietze Remix' d'une très grande qualité. Plus tech et punchy, l'Allemand exploite à merveille le titre du duo en proposant une version plus "club" tout en poussant plus loin l'utilisation de ce doux chant vietnamien…Le résultat est tout simplement excellent! Nul doute que cette version séduira les adeptes de musiques douces et fines alliées à des beats et rythmiques puissantes.

Hot Steppa nous offre également le morceau 'Koltza' qui s'inscrit dans un style cette fois-ci plus "House". Dans la lignée du premier morceau, 'Koltza' est un condensé de bonnes énergies où l'on retrouve d'excellents riffs de guitares alliés à de fines percussions qui se fondent dans cette ambiance ethnique qui caractérise l'EP. Une fois de plus tenus en haleine par ces chants qui répondent à 'Fayen', on aime ce mélange d'influences qui donne à Koltza un goût original et savoureux.

On monte le volume et on écoute cet excellent 'Fayen' EP qui nous aidera à passer cet hiver en toute sérénité avec des morceaux certes plus complexes et pointilleux mais toujours aussi agréables.

Nous souhaitons la bienvenue à Felix & Vincent au sein de l’équipe de la Délicieuse et leur souhaitons tout le succès qu'ils méritent. Un remerciement particulier à Florian Rietze pour ce très beau remix qui s'intègre à merveille au sein de cet EP.
