Instrumentation: 2 piccolos, 4 flutes, 1 alto flute
Written from 6/10/2003 - 13/11/2003 in Lovran, at the "Ino Mirkovic" Academy in Croatia. Dedicated to my dear prof. Pierre-Yves Artaud.

Players: piccolos: Paola Radin, Ana Kralj, flutes: Naike Dapiran, Anamarija Skara (former Milosevic, the composer), Antonea Gjaja, Petra Markovic, alto flute Jelena Valkovic (former Jakupak).

The piece has four movements: I. Introduction, II. The Very Great Gate of Undal, III. 3 Pezzi grotteschi: Scherzo - Intermezzo - Birrichino, IV. Amenti
The story behind the notes narrates the journey of seven friends through life toward Amenti, heaven.  At the beginning there is some chaos (Introduction) until they arrive to the great gate of Undale, the entrance to Amenti. But they cannot pass until they have won / mastered the three demons arising from their own personalities (3 pezzi grotteschi). Finally they succeed and arrive to Amenti.
The piece was premiered in Lovran, 21st December 2003. This is the recording from the general rehearsal just before the concert. I posted it because you can hear mr. Artaud speaking at the end, and because we did it almost perfectly. We were all so excited, specially me, 'cause it was my first premiere ever, the first public musical peace of my own. 10 years ago from now.
