Comprising Travis ‘TK’ Kirschbaum & Tavish Graham, Warehouse Preservation Society have released cuts on Rogue Cat Records and Machine Limited, worked with such esteemed artists as Daniele Baldelli & DJ Rocca, Newborn JR, DJ Garth & Anthony Mansfield, and Paramida’s Love On The Rocks label as well as landing a spot on DJ Harvey's "The Sound Of Mercury Rising Vol II" Pikes compilation.

Decada 2’s musical and visual playfulness trailblazed the electronic scene in Mexico in the mid-80s. The project channels Mateo Lafontaine’s luminous mind and otherworldly persona into an audible experience. The Mexican producer is a sonic alchemist, exploring and combining a multitude of electronic genres. The result - Mateo’s interpretation of the club music zeitgeist.
2020 marked not only 35 years of Decada 2 but also the sudden passing of Mateo.
Philoxenia is proud to present Decada 2’s first vinyl release, a testimony to the legacy of a pioneer of electronic music in Latin America. These remastered tracks showcase Mateo’s unique take on EBM, proto-house and early rave sound, ranging from the mid-80s to the early 90s.

A deeply personal project for the Biologic Records co-boss, Higher Hopes is inspired by the deep immersive, unconventional and left-leaning underground music he loves to play in clubs.
Music like Krokakai’s. An emergent Glaswegian producer with a penchant for hardware – largely using an MPC2000XL, SH09, MS20 Mini, TT-303, Roland Alpha Juno and other trusted tools – he’s already turned heads on labels such as Invisible Inc and PowerStation Records. Right here he lays down the label’s parameters with four unique, far-reaching escapades.
Our pick here falls on ‘The Silk Road’ which picks up the eastern trail and sweeps us deep into the desert on a flying acid carpet.
Music to dance to, music to dream to, music for brighter times. Higher Hopes is vinyl-focused and distributed by Brussels record store Crevette Records. More transmissions will follow very soon.

PREMIERE | Krokakai - The Silk Road [Higher Hopes] 2021

The night sky was lit by the flames of the flickering candles that bordered the clearing — it was the only light for miles and miles. Here they were far away from everything, and where there were no signs of civilisation, there were no interruptions. Those lucky enough to be welcomed into this ritual were all here for one reason or another. But the overriding motivation was finding something beyond the realms of reality; an intangible and unspoken force that could lead them to a higher state of consciousness. 

Tagliabue's organic approach to production has yielded cosmic and trance-inducing releases for the likes of Lustpoderosa, Cosmica Music and Blue Sea, under this alias and his given name Joseph Tagliabue. Elephant Gait Music is the next home for his transcendental musings, this time coming in the form of his debut mini-album Ambiente Sonoro. Like his previous releases, the music is cerebral and enchanting, merging eerie chants, droning atmospheres and ritualistic sounds with 70s library music and IDM influences à la Daniela Casa, Egisto Macchi, Global Communication and Coil.

Here is a new signing on Factor City (@factorcity). Uranio Empobrecido (@uranio_empobrecido) is the alias of Jorge Gutierrez, the founder and head engineer of the NANO Modules synthesizers brand based and born in Valencia.
He creates his music using his own modular creations together with drum machines. Influenced by electro & breakbeat his music is mechanical, dark and cold as ice. But full of analog warmth at the same time. Here we have three new examples of his raw, energetic and very personal take on electronic music. Moving electrons back and forth!

We instantly thought in Ratlife’s honcho and electro wizard Credit 00 (@credit00ratlife) to remix one of the tracks on the ep. He choosed “Bandpass Activated” and delivered a monster of a remix with his very own sound signature.

For the second remix we asked Facets head of Samo records. He delivered a 4x4 dope rework of “Heating Electrons” paying tribute to Valencia’s “ruta del bakalao” sound and energy. Perfect way to complete the EP.

A sound clash of genre-agnostic colourful “Uncharted Territories” EP finally follows-up with additional remixes. Jacques Satre from Worst Records brings his signature sound flip that makes “How Do You Called It” into Saint-Etienne’s chillout scene anthem. Five Rituals modifies “Eating Knives” into an experimental bass sound with half-time beat clocking into chugging tempo and weird Lithuanian pop figure appearing between powerful room shaking basslines. Shkema makes the most psychedelic version of "Eating Knives" so far. Phun Thomas revision got a fat acid facelift and “Thrillingly Twisted Uncharted Territories” by DJ JM is club-ready amen break dj tool revision to original. Finally, Jaroska revisits his own “Eating Knives” one more time to bring into the 80's territory with fuzzed guitars and lyrics that tells the hard truth about most common lifestyle in our club culture.
