"Deep, tunnelling, morphing, trippy techno. Some call it trance and I'm not ashamed of my cherished memories of wondrous nights from decades ago, getting lost amongst the authentic spaces of the genre. Those influences on my tastes remain but the emphasis here is on contemporary producers and labels channeling those same energies and emotions. I had fun leaning on the pitch hard.... finally a chance to fit in a Daniel[i] and a Rod Modell from the franticlly charged Captagon LP. Dub Techno Mixtape 45

Alastair is the man behind Lempuyang, a UK-based label established in 2021 and deeply focused on dub techno sounds.

Among other artists, Ranges co-founder Roberto aka Hydergine first made an appearance on LPY-03, as part of a split release with Steve O'Sullivan under his Bluetrain alias. Hydergine is due to feature again this November on lempuyang's 3rd year anniversary compilation, alongside some seriously heavyweight names in the deep/dub techno realm. 

Lempuyang and Ranges labels are quite related in their sound palette. Testament to Roberto & Alastair's shared tastes, no less than 11 different artists have released material through both Ranges & Lempuyang.
