CLUB.RECORD Podcast #55 - Asphalt DJ

Sometime in February 2025, the Warning crew (@warningberlin) set sail to international waters, setting course directly to the infamous community space coppi, floating freely in the vast ocean of the berlin scene.  No storm, no flu-wave, no BVG-strike could stop these fierce electronic buccaneers from taking over the coppi studio for a night.  Bringing with them their treasured black, shiny disks, a mix of old crew members and some newfound friends showcased their very individual styles, while all being connected by their deep passion for music.

Having contributed a killer track to Warning’s recent Compilation it was a joy having @asphaltdj on the decks as well. 
While being at home in progressive waters, Doron managed to fit his set perfectly to the context of the takeover, his set still carried his handwriting. A very nice mix of laidback beach-house and deep progressive tech classics. Always a pleasure to sail with this guy!

Doron, known as Asphalt DJ, began his musical journey in his early twenties. Growing up in a family of music enthusiasts, his natural affinity for creating and exploring music flourished. He honed his distinctive taste and style through a genuine curiosity for clubbing and raves, embracing a rich tapestry of genres and musical influences. His deep-seated love for house music led him on a journey through its varied expressions — From rhythmic percussion to the progressive beats, tracing the vibrant history from classic American pioneers to the late 90s UK scene.

Doron’s career as a producer took off in 2022 with the Amsterdam-based label Oddysee, where he released a highly successful 4-track EP alongside Gzardin. The following year, he made his solo debut with an EP on the acclaimed label Haws and later released another EP on R.A.N.D. Muzik. His track “Sweaty Ride,” co-produced with Gzardin, was featured on the prestigious “Hyper Love” VA from Tofistock, along with another VA appearance on Gestalt Records.

During the summer of 2023, Asphalt DJ & Gzardin launched a self-released VA titled “Glow Mid,” featuring festival-ready tracks from himself, Gzardin, and Olsvangèr. Asphalt DJ’s music has garnered steady support from prominent artists like Roi Perez, Roza Terenzi, Sedef Adasï, Paramida, Job Jobse, Spray, and many more.

Operating on a solo tip this time around, the Berlin-based producer further expands his sonic palette and offers a versatile collection of steamy club workouts geared towards various stages of dancefloor functionality. The record seamlessly touches on seductive after-hours bounce, slices of late nite propulsion and flawless rhythmic explorations, while keeping firm footing in the 90 and 00’s sound spectrum.

With an eye on the ongoing terror inflicted upon the Palestinian people, we (artist & label) decided to donate all proceeds from this release to Save The Children - Gaza and West Bank Emergency.
