Last July I put out my first ever three hour mix, and I loved the process behind building it and how over the past year that mix was a barometer for what my taste was at that point in time and what I loved in music. 

This July I thought it'd be only fitting to continue the tradition... so here it is; a bit deeper and darker than the last one but that's where I'm at musically at the moment. Hope you enjoy

As a producer, Live Act and DJ Bookwood explores the spheres of electronic music form an early age on. After releasing his debut EP on berlin-based label URSL in 2017 many releases followed on labels like Kindisch, Kiosk ID and Cosmic Society. Since then you can catch him either playing his emotional Live-Set or a driving DJ set at clubs and festivals all around germany - (And hopefully the world soon ;-))

Midnight Community #60 w/ Bookwood - 15.09.21

Hey music-loving friends, welcome back to The Karismatik Podkast! This is our 33rd episode, and for it we’ve got an upbeat house set for you by our wonderful guest @la-vondel. 
 
Faysal Nadif a.k.a. La Vondèl, made his first steps in music at the young age of 10. In order to to practice and perform his dance routines, he began creating his very own mixtapes by cutting and pasting cassettes.
 
By the age of 17 Faysal was performing in clubs as a freestyle dancer, and began experimenting with making Hip-Hop beats and Beatboxing. At the age of 21, a performance of the Wighnomy Brothers at Awakefest, inspired him to start producing electronic music. His goal was to have at least four hours of his own productions before performing live. Within just one year of setting this goal, La Vondèl had performed live in Berlin and all the major clubs in Amsterdam. 

For his set for The Karismatik, he aimed to bring grooves for positivity, even mixing in a few tracks of his own.
