I performed this at a very special event... The first commemoration of the tragedies of 9/11 at the Washington National Cathedral in 2002. The procession of interfaith unity was moving beyond words. Everyone was crying, I heard a man quietly sobbing behind me, as Desmond Tutu delivered the eulogy. It was a sound that was both heartbreaking and comforting~ <3 The sound of love, of fragility, of compassion and union. Such a very humbling day.

Beth Nielson Chapman also performed at the commemoration and later went on to record this song on an album whose proceeds went to the victims of the tsunami in Indonesia. She invited Bonnie Raitt and me to join her in harmonies. That was produced by my friend Gary Malkin.

"Move Me" is a song to the Beloved~ it is a heart's yearning to be drawn closer by the Beloved, to be immersed in the ocean of Love and Beauty, Servitude and, ultimately, Sacrifice. To hear what is meant to be heard, to speak what is meant to be spoken, to live in a way that is in harmony with the Will of the Beloved~ to enter the Ridvan Garden.
