Celebrating not just Ryan Elliott’s faith in a vital new generation of producers and DJs, but five years of his own meticulously curated Faith Beat imprint, ‘Have Faith’ is a bold new chapter for the Panorama Bar veteran. Before relocating to Berlin, Elliott cut his teeth spinning Detroit, so he pays it forward on this 34-track compilation, shining a dazzling spotlight on the local scenes and breaking new artists that promise to keep American dance music moving as it lurches towards a new era. When he was based in the US, Elliott realized how distant Europe felt for homegrown artists – not just philosophically, but physically. Two years ago, he set about excavating the US’s underground architecture, pooling contacts and tracks, and urging his wide network of friends to send over their best recommendations. The compilation coalesced organically, and pulls together a diverse canon of producers, offering them the global exposure they urgently need. Eighty percent of the tracks are from up-and-coming US-based artists from the Midwest and beyond, so with the 10th release on his label, Elliott lays down a glimpse of a possible future of underground house and techno that counters the scene’s contemporary Eurocentricity. This music was born in the US, and its evolution might still be in American hands.

Spirits are high as we strive for utopia. Like relics of times passed – a bygone era where the free party reigned supreme – this is a union forged out of a mutual affinity for trippy dancefloor dynamics and live performance.

Rapturous and ecstatic, both originals evoke pure club hedonism. Sensual, sultry gear made of euphoric melodrama, close sweat and lysergic throb. Wide-eyed optimism coursing throughout, but like any good proggy majick, it’s not without a decent dose of shadow and ritual.

Coming in hottt with the remixes and both are befitting a release bent on traversing the wormhole interior. Oyster Cult acolyte Roza Terenzi keeps it taught and tightly-coiled on her rugged, propulsive re-fit, and not to be outdone, Butter Sessions founders Sleep D let atmosphere pull focus with a sprawling, dubby workout.

Ryosuke Tsuchiya, who also served as PA, mastered this mix. He used a unique approach, including IR reverb, to simulate the environment of the day with an immersive feel.
WOMB is a club with a very high ceiling and wooden floor. The subwoofer, with its large horn, gives the kick a rich ambience.

Representing South London this week, we're delighted to welcome Angel D'lite to the mix series. Known for her high-energy and infectious take on dance-music, the sounds and ethos of UK dance music heritage are keenly felt in both her DJ sets and productions, which have found a home on the likes of Radiant Records, GODDEZZ and Planet Euphorique. 

A schedule regularly playing records at the world's most respected venues / parties, and a label in the works are testament to a broad and determined vision. Thanks for the mix Angel, we'll see you in Tisno this summer for what's sure to be an extremely fun Dimensions debut.

The newly installed High Hoops resident effortlessly straddles genres. From piano house to emotive trance, always delivering uplifting moods and euphoric drops that turn her dance floors into spaces of pure joy.

This June, she’ll be closing down the Poppy area at Lentekabinet. Ahead of that, she serves up one of her signature sessions for our series: a jam-packed ride through every corner of rave culture. Expect strobe-lit synths, rapturous vocals, thumping bass, and playful twists. It’s the perfect soundtrack for the road to Het Twiske—and a summer full of fun.

"Celestial Bliss" LP includes the most direct and propulsive Shinoby material yet. There is a functional connection to dance music here, honing in on the celestial bliss's human element embedded within a sound fraught with inhumanity. The music is emotional, hostile, dark, grungy, dissenting, acidic and energetic. Mostly based on repetitive patterns, the distorted yet perfectly balanced percussion drills through the concrete warehouse walls long into the night. The not occasional use of distortion brings the dense atmosphere to near suffocating limits. Like life, pieces begin and end abruptly, sometimes in a harsh and jarring way. "I frequently worry that being productive is the surest way to lull ourselves into a trance of passivity and busyness the greatest distraction from living" proclaims the text on the back of the album sleeve, "as we coast through our lives day after day, showing up for our obligations but being absent from our selves, mistaking the doing for the being" insistent and persistent, Shinoby doesn't stop.
