The Lover, ο Καύκος, is an old rizitiko song from the island of Crete. No one knows who wrote it and whether this person was a man or a woman, but this piece is one of the few deeply feminist songs of Greek traditional music.

The Lover through the senses of Maroulita de Kol is translated as an hymn to freedom.
Women free to choose. 
To live life exactly as they want it. 
As conscious pulsating free human beings.

So finally I made it.... I've been wanting to cover this song for years! Since the first time I heard it while watching the series "Nashville" I loved this song and it's always followed me as I sing it in my concerts and with friends or even alone!!! I hope you like my version of it, with the amazing guitars of my good friend Dimitris Voutsinas who really took the music to the next level! It's now got a real country kick about it!!! 
And as this is my last of 2020 and at the same time (upload started in 2020 and finished in 2021 haha) my first of 2021, it comes with my deepest wishes and prayers for all of us... that we all have a life that's good... whatever "good" means for each one of us 😊❤️🙏🏻
