Swadance Records is a new Berlin based label for House and Techno. Actually Swadance means South-East-WestAfrican-Dance. The label´s aim is to release festive but futuristic electronic dance music that is deeply rooted in the African continent.   

Assini Rock, founder of the label, joins forces with Ocelleo1 to deliver the first release on Swadance that will be released on June 7th 2019. 
Assini Rock used to act under the moniker "Roch Dadier". He owned the "Portrait Records" label from 2000 to 2004 and released 4 EPs on the same label. His last release under the moniker "Roch Dadier" appeared on the Dutch techno label "Indigo Aera" alongside Makam and Pacou. 

The song "Brand new vibe" is actually a new and more elaborated version of "la pierre polie", released on "Portrait Records" in 2002 by Assini Rock under his moniker "Roch Dadier". Back then the track had seen great support by James Zabiela and Lee Burridge in particular. 

The 2019 revisited version features the Ivorian-German singer "Ocelleo1" on vocals. With her voice she gives the song a fresh and uplifting character. While the "AR´s afromelo club mix" displays more melodies and a song structure grounded in a captivating and electrifying Africa-rooted groove, the "AR´s atypical club mix" celebrates the minimalist and reduced vibe of club music. "Train to altair", the 3rd track of this ep offers the "assini rockish" definition of a strong somehow hypnotic but in the same time eclectic four-to-the-floor techno track for the pleasure of Djs and clubbers.  

Together with maestro Tobi Neumann and DJ Fadi Mohem Assini Rock has mixed the "Brand new vibe ep" at Berlin´s Riverside studios. Carl Craig´s tour manager Chris Chapelle of "Sinetracks mastering" on one hand and Mike Grinser of "Manmade mastering" on the other hand were responsible for the final engineer touch. 

Each of the 3 tracks on the "Brand new vibe ep" is as intoxicating and thrilling as the other and a dancefloor weapon.

Born in Abidjan (Côte d´Ivoire) Assini Rock developed his DJ-technique by mixing funk, soul, hip-hop, breaks, early disco sounds, reggae, Latin and African music. During his studies at the University of Regensburg (Germany) he discovered House music as well as Techno music and started his own parties.

While persuing the studies at the university of Munich (Germany) he hosted a weekly 4-hours show on Evosonic Radio that got well acclaimed. He was then offered Dj residencies in legendary clubs like „Ultraschall“ and „Registratur“ in Munich and from time to time he would showcase his skills at „Tresor“ in Berlin. 

As a logical consequence he bought music gear and founded the Portrait Records Label in 2002 and started releasing Techno and House music under the moniker "Roch Dadier". His first 12 inch „The voodoo criminal EP“ was followed by three more EPs in the same year: „The seeker EP“, „Where am I from EP“ and „La pierre polie EP“. The records have got huge support by Carl Cox, Paco Osuna, James Zabiela, Lee Burridge, Michel de Hey, Sander Kleinenberg and Jay Denham among others. Bookings brought him all over Europe into Techno institutions and venues where he pointed out his DJ skills and technique which always got to be a winner. 

Music produced by Assini Rock under the alias “Roch Dadier” appeared then on several compilations and in „DJ Mix-CDs“ such as Paco Osuna "Amnesia Ibiza: Get into summer 2002", Lee Burridge "24:7" on Global Underground 2003", Michel de Hey "The official Dance Valley Festival n°8 compilation" ,  Frank Müller A.K.A. Beroshima / Angela Flame "Essential Underground Vol. 05: Berlin-Singapore" . In 2003, in his mix 24:7, Lee Burridge chartered „La pierre polie EP“ which became kind of a DJ-secret-weapon in the UK and brought bookings requests to Australia, South Korea and Japan. In 2004 Netherlands popular DJ Michel de Hey released a re-issue of the track „Insomnia“ on his label "EC records" that became the steady N° 1 track on Carl Cox´s top tens one year long.  

Attending a DJ performance by Assini Rock in most cases turn to be an unique experience. The combination of formidable skills, huge selection-experience with Funkyness and Groovyness, has made him a first class and world league DJ. 

From 2006 on Assini Rock started discovering his home continent. With a backpack he travelled whole West Africa investigating, developing his music style and reinventing himself. Thus „AFRICATRONICS“ was born: It is the music-creation-Lab in which experiments are conducted in order to give expression to a special and personal vision of modern and futuristical Africa-rooted House, Techno and electronic dance music as general. 

„Africatronics“ is the place where Techno, House, Club and electronic music  merges with african music. The quest over years has leaded Assini Rock to meetings, friendships and collaborations with some giants of the West African music scene such as Bebi Philip from Côte d´Ivoire with the hit “move dadass” (music written and produced by Assini Rock), Debordo Leekunfa, Kedjevara, Awilo Longomba, Espoir 2000, Nash and Suspect95 to name a few. 

In January 2017 Assini Rock travelled to Bamako (Mali) and met super stars such as Oumou Sangaré, Rokia Traoré, Habib Koité and Bassékou Kouyaté. 

All the music that has been recorded at those meetings as well as the new influence and the inspiration that he has won from those travels now deliver the fundament for the new music creation and for his upcoming releases under the moniker  "ASSINI ROCK". Assini Rock has just founded the new record label “Swadance” that shall be the platform that will showcase the music creation out of the Africatronics think tank.
