C’est au lendemain d’une soirée rue de Charenton qu’Amosev décide de traiter musicalement une pensée qui l’a obsédé toute la nuit : « Qu’est-ce que la spiritualité pour un Homme athée ? ». Il contacte le jour même Paul Cirrus, son binôme au sein de MYOTONE, et ensemble ils débutent leur réflexion.
L’EP « Jamal » ambitionne de répondre à cette question. Nous avons donc choisi de créer une histoire autour d’un personnage non croyant qui face à l’inexplicable est contraint de revoir ses certitudes. Au fil de cinq chansons, Jamal se voit chargé d’une mission irréaliste qu’il accepte à contre coeur.
Nous tenions à ce que la musique et les textes fassent corps. La seule contrainte pour la composition était la cohérence entre l’intrigue, les paroles et les instrus. Conçu comme un unique morceau progressif, l’EP regroupe plusieurs styles musicaux des mouvements Hip-Hop et Rave. De l’Ambient à la Trance, du Trip-Hop à la Drum & Bass, « Jamal » est un mélange de cultures dans lequel fusionnent samples traditionnels, arpégiateurs analogiques et orchestration symphonique.
