OUTWARD concludes my advent calendar of drops for 2025. This project was a great challenge yet so rewarding to do after not doing Nexmas for so many years. 

Now a bit about OUTWARD. I've always been enamored with the beauty and power of the weather. As a child I was fascinated by thunderstorms and Tornadoes. My favorite movies growing up were Twister and The Day After Tomorrow. Something I've always tried to carry through to my music is a sense of atmosphere and sound structures that reflect that of a storm with cracks of lighting and thunder, as well a destructive or violent component.

One evening towards the end of spring I ventured up to the shops to grab a feed and discovered a monstrous towering super cell cloud in the distance that was putting on quite a light show. After taking it in I decided to capture some shots in slow motion. Immediately I went home and began examining the footage as well as others over the years and that is what lead to the inspiration for this song. I got the idea out that night and in the following weeks my city was lashed by extreme storms almost daily.

This album was made late. Not metaphorically ... actually late. Most of it came together after midnight, when the city noise drops and everything feels a little sharper through headphones.

AFTER HOURS, NO FILTER sits between cinematic EDM, hybrid trap, and gritty Y2K bass. Heavy low end, distorted textures, glitchy transitions, and builds that feel more like scenes than songs. Some tracks hit hard, some just sit in the background and breathe, but they all live in that same late-night headspace.

It’s music for night drives, gaming sessions, gym headphones, editing at 2AM, or just zoning out with the lights off. Not polished, not overly clean, and not chasing trends just bass-forward, atmospheric, and intentionally rough around the edges.

If you’re into dark electronic music, cinematic bass, underground EDM, hybrid trap, or Y2K-inspired sound design, this project lands right there. Turn it up, let it run, don’t overthink it.
