Inspired by his times on Above & Beyond's Australian tour earlier this year, "Perth" coils up an oscillating and menacing tech bassline before releasing into a nostalgic breakdown that nods to Bayer's love of classic trance. A darker excursion full of growing funk that counters with a beautiful, deeply musical piano breakdown, "Mirth Mobile" hits like a bastard son of Skrillex and Above & Beyond (two musical forces who were unexpectedly united at The Greek Theatre recently). A genuinely unique track, it completes another impressive EP from the US producer and a reminder of his uniquely emotional and accomplished approach to EDM.
