HBDO joins the family with two dark dance floor destroyers.

The Florida based star broke on to the scene back in 2011 and has quietly amassed a solid back catalogue on some of the scene’s indie hotspots such as Journey Deep, Pangea, and Fade Recordings. 

A second generation DJ/producer, he was inspired by his pops who played disco, funk and soul. His sonic journey began in Manchester in the UK where he began to spin at local venues and gaining a reputation, this led to opportunities in Europe and eventually a relocation to the US. A man of many faces, his aliases include All Wheel Drive and part of The Oddest Prime. 

The first of a brace of bangers sees HDBO explore the dark recesses of the floor with a deep, melodic tech vibe. ‘Dancing’ is pure night music. A sparse, hypnotic groove and echoing vocals take you to the depths of debauchery. 

Next up, ‘Olley’ takes a funky path to the peak time. Cascading synths and rhythmic sonics make this a pacey acidic bruiser for the late nights.

From The Vaults is a collection of unreleased remixes, oddities and collectables by our talented cast of label mates. 

First up, new signing, the exciting Federico Puentes adds his Argentinian flair to UK stalwart, Audioglider’s epic ’Deeper Like An Iceberg’; starving Romanian artist, Ucleden gorges on Chris Johnson’s ‘Going Home’; we revisit Ian Dillons massive Pako & Frederik remix from year one, Freek Strano conjures up memories of James Holden’s Border Community on ‘Child Inner’ while One Week dubs out Minus Five Wolves dystopic ‘Powers That Be’.

Daniel Klose returns with a full solo EP - Beyond Beauty. Early support from Gai Barone, Sebastian Davidson, Weird Sounding Dude, Kasey Taylor, and Ziger.

A relative unknown in the dance music world, his tracks sound like a 20-year veteran and we are super stoked to showcase his serious studio skills once more. Daniel sent us four new tracks a few months back and we took them all, they are that good. So invested in his art, Daniel has chosen the artwork for this project from his own photography folders. Daniel tells us his main musical influence is Global Underground/Soso artist Oliver Schories from his home town of Hamberg, so you know his music is going to be deep, musical and absolute dance floor carnage!

First up is this svelte double A side which opens with the title track, ‘Beyond Beauty’. Sparse percussion and ice cold synths create a barren audio landscape on which layers of warmth recreate the joy of watching the sun rise after a night dancing your cares away. ‘When In Berlin’ continues the theme for this exciting new Teutonic superstar in the making. Sombre rhodes chords chime in the distance as Daniel explores the darker recesses of the early morning dance floors with clever drum work and synths that drip with emotion.

Freek Strano’s ‘Child Inner’ gets a welcome re-issue with a massive Jamie Stevens remix.  

Originally released in 2018 (and again on From The Vaults Vol 4), ‘Child Inner’ caught the ear of Australian powerhouse Jamie Stevens, who contacted us to do the remix. It's taken a long time for the release to see the light of day, but here we finally are! We really don’t need to tell you much about Jamie, his work speaks volumes, so let's get on with it!

Audioglider returns to the label with two stonking originals ably assisted by the irrepressible Framewerk!

Its been a big 2023 already for the ever-consistent Audioglider with releases on Emotional Content, JourneyDeep, Melodic Beats, and Capital Heaven covering indie dance to breaks and far beyond! Speaking of Capital Heaven, the label heads, Framewerk have been on a rich vein of form for the last 18 or so months notching up releases on Bedrock, Stress, Renaissance and more. And as the boys are already well acquainted, this was always going to be a massive release!

Providing two unique broken beats, Audioglider continues to be a pioneer on the new progressive breaks front marrying soaring synths and warm pads with tight drums that literally make you want to dance. ‘A Whistleblower’s Lament’ takes us deep into the mind of a tortured genius. Known for his love of shoegaze, we are whisked away on a wild ride of ethereal vocals, clever keys, and a monstrous low end, while on ‘Tape Death’ we are treated to a solid UK breaks vibe that will rock any room it’s played in.

Benwaa returns with two outstanding new originals, with remix support coming from Real Gone Kid, fresh from his breaks excursion (Interceptor EP) and Ireland's wonder kid, Silinder. 

Producer, mastering guru and fitness fanatic, Benwaa has created over the last few years a solid back catalogue of tunes for us. Boss man at Gibbon Records, his understanding of the scene and how tracks work is as multilayered as his own beats are. Without him, the label would cease to be. It’s that simple. 

First up, ‘Sexy Hilda Has Her Hair Net In Again For Raving’ features powerful sonics and a robust low end for that early doors trance sound. 
On remix duties, Silinder adds his uniquely smooth sound to re-imagine the track as a grooving mid-set progger. 

Ben’s second original, ‘Big Thing Ding’ hacks back to a golden time for progressive house and stands out a mile for its rich tapestry of melodics. On the remix this time, RGK works his breaks magic to tease out the drama of the vocals.

Our resident starving artist, Ucleden makes a triumphant return with two stylish originals and remix support from Lexicon Avenue and Benwaa. 

It’s been a little while since we’ve had original music from Ucleden, but we’ve featured him often. Not surprising really, he’s been pushing his silky smooth vibes across some great labels such as Ricky Ryan’s Electronic Groove, and Mike Koglin and Mood Freak’s YOMO records to name a few. 

Opening with ‘Oxygen’ it’s all systems go. Bass heavy and driving, the low end fury powers this one for those pre-peak moments to get the floor focused. Earworm arps hypnotise at will. ‘The Sea Was Empty’ digs deeper. Classically structured and warmly familiar, this is progressive house from an artist at the peak of his talents. 

On remix duties, prog legend Lexicon Avenue reimagines ‘Oxygen’ with delicate pads and a meaty reese bass midsection. Stripped back for maximum carnage, this is one for the big occasions. Inspired by ‘The Sea Was Empty’ Benwaa has turned in two different remixes. Aesthetic 1 vibes along paying homage to the original's energy and groove with a more electronic edge.

Audioglider returns with ‘Just wanted you to know’. 

It’s been a busy year for Audioglider. Guest mixes for Institution, Just B and Musique de Lune, plus releases on Framewerk’s Capital Heaven, ARRVL, Emotional Content and more have kept his “non-linear journey” on track. Uniquely original since 2007, Roberto’s fusion of spaced out nu-disco prog shoegaze continues to impress. 

‘Just wanted you to know’ is presented here as a breaks opus and four to the floor club mix, each conveying the same message differently. Opening the breaks mix, a UKG beat is joined by rubbery bass and ad-lib vocals. Acid squelches and percussive energy complete the groove all leading to a epic hands in the air breakdown. On the club mix, punchy beats up the ante. A classy prog crossover with tones of energy and personality.

Real Gone Kid is back with 2 deep house cuts. 

Known for his schizophrenic musical palette, in recent years we have seen him dovetail his style towards slower beat-led grooves and more organic soundscapes. Influenced by ‘90s production idols Peace Division, Organs of Peace is an homage to that deep minimal tech vibe that Justin and Clive made their own.

Signed to a wide spectrum of labels including onedotsixthree, Einmusika and Krafted, his stand out remix for Plastic City (Watchman - Cut The Midrange) really put him on the radar of the scene and lead to a collaboration project with Dutch supremo C-Jay. A DJ at heart, he grew up listening to his brothers CD collection sparking a lifelong love for the music. 

Originally a duo, Circulation pioneered the early 00s tech house sound, which built on the melodics of deep Detroitian beats. Known for their disco-edged colours series, they quickly found themselves signed to Defected, React, Hooj Choons and more headlining events around the world. Now after a long hiatus, two become one but the vibe remains just as life-affirming. 

In original form, ‘Maxim’ is a warm chugging vibe for the early floors. Floaty synths and weird vox keep it wonky as the arps give drive and direction. On the remix, Circulation takes it even more aquatic and hypnotising.

After smashing the arse off it with a debut release from an up and coming artist, another debut, this time, prog breaks. Please welcome Mind at Large with his Labyrinth EP. 

Something of a fledgling artist still, Mark has landed some releases on AH Digital and Hexagonal since breaking onto the scene last summer. A long time music lover, his Mind at Large project is only really just starting, but what we heard given us a lot to be impressed by. 

Opening with ‘Labyrinth’, the product of listening to prog classic Tyrantanic, soaring synths and wild percussions set this one apart from the norm. ‘Meridian’ serves as a worthy partner. An organic drum experiment at heart, it grows and develops into quite a beast. Finally, flexing his Young American Primitive vibes, ’Still Feel’ drops the tempo but none of the drama. A solid EP throughout.

Terje Saether joins the family with two incendiary originals. Remix support comes from label favourite Silinder and boss man Real Gone Kid.

Born in the land of the polar bear and aquavit, Terje Saether loves a dark beat. Inspired by ’80s musical firebrands such as The Cure and Pet Shop Boys, his love of the electronic has seen him release with a slew of high profile imprints including Hope Recordings, Darkroom Dubs and Bedrock.

Opening with ‘Cold Drop’ those dark grooves are very apparent. Deep and hypnotic, it gets under your skin quickly as all good earworms do. For his remix, RGK focuses on the organics to construct a dirty peak time breaks monster.

Next up, ‘Undertow’ works its magic. Again deeply satisfying without ever losing its cool, this will work on the cooler floors perfectly. Irish supremo, Silinder reimagines the original motifs in his immutable style, adding a fresh polish.

ASTIR has a proud tradition of pushing newer artists alongside more established ones, and never has this been more apparent than this new EP from Never More. 

Producer, Label Manager and Live Act for Republik Music, Never More (or Colin to his friends) has been working hard in the underground for quite some time. With releases on Selador, RePublik, Krafted Underground & SURO, he’s definitely making the right noises; finding high profile supporters of his music from Sasha and John Digweed to Guy J and Solomun. 

The EP opens with ‘Doomsday Device’ an epic synth opus full of power and energy which remind us the golden years of Prog (98 - 03), while ’Sleep’ takes you on a hypnotic journey and comes complete with a wild Pako & Frederik re-rub.

Next up for ASTIR comes a debut solo EP from Daniel Klose. Daniel has previously remixed one of our best performing tracks which was licensed to Freakin303 for their Freakin Progressive mix album, so we felt he deserved his moment in the sun. 

Something of a recluse to the music scene, he works in marketing in his native Germany and has only previously released music with our dear friends at Gibbon Records. As you’ll hear across all four cuts, he’s a very gifted producer and we hope this release will be the catalyst for him to release much more. 

Opening with ‘Copy Paste Edit’ we are quickly drawn into his world of deep, musical sound. Sparse and enigmatic, it radiates powerful emotions. ‘Delusions’ is more dance floor focused. Woodblock taps keep time as the low end growl takes shape and drives the track. Growing in confidence and stature throughout, it makes the perfect warm up e-moment or late night momentary noodle. 

Title track ‘Nightride’ is pure deep house bliss. Growling bass notes merge with crisp percussive tones that float around the speaker space, each one adding another layer of tension and intrigue. Finally, Daniel teams up with his equally talented wife, Susan for a deeply personal and emotionally charged collaboration; her vocals against the icy orchestral tapestry somehow becomes transcendent.

We welcome UK artist Askani to the ASTIR family with 'The Abyss'. 

The London-based DJ/Producer is beginning to make some serious waves with tracks signed already to Audio Rehab and Fingerprints, a residency at Ministry of Sound and pre-lockdown shows across the city.

'The Abyss' is a classic progressive journey. Starting out innocently enough, layers of melodics and tension grow the track into a full on peak time grooveathon.
