The latest release from Tash's Movement Recordings finds Amir Telem and Nordvolk collaborating on a three-track artist showcase. Hailing from Israel and Germany respectively Amir and Nordvolk have achieved measurable success since first working together in 2021. The duo's amalgamation of progressive and melodic house has found a home on Massive Harmony Records, Perspectives Digital and Pipe and Pochet, while the genre's trendsetters have chimed in with support. Now, continuing to build on their creative synergy, Amir and Nordvolk land on Movement Recordings with 'The Beginning', alongside a remix from Der Effekt and AVIOR.

The release commences with the title track 'The Beginning', which finds Amir and Nordvolk layering meandering melodic fragments and looping vocals over pulsating grooves and punchy kick drums. A smooth energy carries into the break where the duo bring a great emotional response, as cinematic pads, rolling drums and a striking vocal phrase unite in a gorgeous crescendo which ultimately cues a melodic finale. Meanwhile, selection two 'Abhaya' goes a bit deeper with an airy top-line and stunning effects creating a narrative that is equal parts groovy and trippy. Swirling arps and creamy tones add depth, space and emotion leading into the break, where dark swells and metallic modulation cue a groove-centric drop and cosmic conclusion. Selection three 'Sudarchakra Chakra' rounds out the originals with fluttery key changing arps and dark stabs running across a rippling groove and driving percussive arrangements. It carves an energetic path into the main break where emotion peaks and drama intensifies. Placid pads emerge for hopeful moments, eventually getting washed away in a trail of jet engine exhaust for a fiery finale.

Rounding out the release with the lone interpretation of 'Sudarchakra Chakra' is Der Effekt and AVIOR who return to the label following their 'Inception' EP from 2022. Hailing from Austria and Switzerland respectively, the trio continue to be a creative force in the world of melodic house and techno with a powerful remix here. Staying true to the vibe of the original but with a sharper edge, the trio's electric grooves and phasing sonics captivate across the first act. Unique and uplifting, the main break is sure to capture the dancefloor's full attention, as glassy motifs and rising modulation eventually give way for a finale of buzzing stabs and key changing grooves.

Astral Records opens the new year by welcoming Far From Home & Retoric to the label for their first collaborative project. Based in Argentina and comprised of Lautaro Lopez Delgado & Lucas Amicone, Far From Home crafts mystical melodic techno which takes listeners on a journey. The duo's otherworldly sound has found a home on Be Free Recordings, Coalescentia Records, Heinz Music, Sequence Music and more. Astral Records has also been a home for the duo's cutting edge style, making their label debut in 2022 with the well received 'Gates to Atlantis' EP. Meanwhile, Spanish artist Retoric has made impressive strides since first emerging in 2019 with an EP via ARKHAMRA. The Madrid resident has earned the praise of Tale Of Us, The Element and Oostil, while continuing to display sophisticated sound design and memorable musical themes throughout his productions. Now, combining their extensive forces for the first time, Far From Home and Retoric begin 2024 on Astral Records with 'The Arrival', alongside remixes from Paul Anthonee and LORRAINNE. Beginning with title track 'The Arrival', Far From Home and Retoric put a firm focus on the dancefloor which sets the tone for the release. Full of rhythmic energies and syncopated vocal chants, the trio layer orbiting effects and precise percussive arrangements for a slow burning flow leading into the break. Icy and cinematic in equal measure, the interlude opens up into a vivid landscape of haunted voices and delicate keys, before melting down to a stomping drop and club-effective finale. Meanwhile, the companion piece 'Future' finds Far From Home operating in solo capacity with a dark pulsating journey into the depths of cosmic techno. Arpeggiated fragments, pyrotechnic effects and delicate melodic splashes provide just the right amount of sensory stimulation, while a machine-gun style groove delivers a pneumatic energy for the dancefloor. The first interpretation of 'The Arrival' is provided by label A&R Paul Anthonee. In addition to being a core part of the Astral family, Paul has achieved global recognition for his far-reaching sound. Tale Of Us, Maceo Plex, Carl Cox, Innellea, Fideles, Kevin De Vries and more have praised his work, while Running Clouds, Steyoyoke, Parquet and UV Noir have been landing spots for his sought-after tracks. Coming off a stellar remix for Melodic Room to begin the year, Paul now returns to Astral with a huge remix of 'The Arrival'. With a backbone of tough kick drums, rolling rhythms and flickering arps, comes a forest of ultrasonic effects and clattering drums for the ultimate club-effective vibe. Trance-inspired themes dominate the main break, building to a sizzling boil amidst a vortex of drums, white noise and clustered vocals, for what results in a huge peak time version that is sure to light up even the most discerning dancefloors. The release concludes with LORRAINNE making her label debut with the second and final interpretation of 'The Arrival'. Splitting time between London and Madrid, the Spanish artist first emerged in 2020 with a string of well-received releases via ONISM. 2021 would see LORRAINNE make her debut on Astral affiliate Movement Recordings with a stellar remix of 'Kyla' by Paul Angelo & Don Argento. Continuing to build on her success across the next two years, the Madrid resident would go on to make impressive debuts on Radikon and Dear Deer, in turn earning support from Tale of Us, Adriatique, Kevin de Vries, Fideles, Lane 8, Massano and more. Now, as 2024 begins, LORRAINNE adds Astral Records to her resume with a huge rendition of 'The Arrival'. Bringing a techno state of mind, LORRAINNE carefully balances the themes from the original with her own melodic groove-centric sound. Timely vocal gates and striking stabs steal the air atop thunderous beats, chunky grooves and timeless tonal themes, for what results in the ultimate dance floor bomb to round out the release.
