she wisphered doubt’s I can’t erase.
the waves keep stealing the shores we knew,
and choked the paths we struggled through.
along this coast, our fading footprints buried deep,
dissolving faster than the pace that we can keep.
now the tide has washed away the past,
after all, the storm is clearing, pretending this time it will last.
                                                                                                                                
I don’t blame you for the fall,
it was me who build the walls-
you knocked for truth one hundred times,
I slammed the door, left you outside.
every promise had an echo,
but no weight behind the words.
I made you question what was real,
turned your safety into fear.
Every upset, every fight,
was me defending my own lies.

by pretending nothing’s wrong-
and with all the reasons clear,

haunted by qualms, we tried to hide.
