There are many different ways that the biosphere affects climate. Some produce greenhouse gases and promote warming of our planet through the greenhouse effect, while others reduce the amount of greenhouse gases promoting cooling of our planet. Thereby, by trapping heat, greenhouse gases contribute to our planet's warming and the biosphere provides the necessary environmental conditions for survival. And of course, Biosphere is the moniker of one Geir Janssen, who has been a constant influence on ambient music throughout his career. The goal of this feature and accompanying mix was to create a journey of escapism and comfort. Whereas the previous Portals feature, ‘Music For Sleeping’ could be deemed very similar, the approach here focused on keeping an attentive layer/s that ended up being more pure to Brian Eno’s definition of ambient music: “As ignorable as it is interesting”, which actually aligns very well with the definition of what it means to be mindful; "the quality or state of being conscious or aware of something”.

Campfire Stories 85 (Cloudwalker) by Warmth

Christian Samsara is a Danish-born DJ and record collector.
His journey into electronic music began back in his early teenagehood and after a few years, he discovered the electronic ambient genre which grew into his big passion and later on, lead him behind the decks.
Since the beginning of his DJ carreer, he performed at a great number of festivals and events accross the world and of course in his homeland, Denmark.
Inspired by the nature and isolated places, his mixes are often a selection of ambient / downtempo / IDM music with deep cinematic soundscapes and layers of organic textures.
He joins Ultimae Records in 2015 and is currently selecting works for an upcoming compilation release.
