Astro & The Ages are your local original soul / world hybrid band from Melbourne. 

 The Ages aim is to play unmanufactured, colourful, timeless music. The band was formed by trumpeter / singer / songwriter / keyboardist Astro, so named because the funk band he played in as a teen thought he was a freak from outer space. 

  Astro has recorded for Bertie Blackmann, Sally Seltman, DubFX, Husky, Clary Browne and the Banging Rackettes, Chelsea Wilson, Blue King Brown, TZU, Flap!, The Red Eyes, Gypsy Brown, Way of The Eagle, Melodics, Brazil’s ‘Dois Em Um’, Hue Blanes, Human Face, Martin Martini, Zikora etc etc. 

These influences have all melted naturally into Astro’s songwriting, which has been refined for many years and aims straight for the soul. 

Not a band to just recite their material, at live shows the songs often open up and can lead anywhere, aiming at moments of bliss. 

The Ages have a mastered album, due in 2016, and aim to release it to the world as a uniquely Australian grown hybrid blend of international sounds.
