It's been 11 years of Perfect Stranger, and that means countless classic tunes that have kept up with the rhythm of time. The remix album features 3 CDs showcasing the very best of Perfect Stranger, revisited by some of the finest artists in the scene, each paying tribute to 11 years of perfectly strange tunes by adding their own manifesto of groove to the remixes.

CD1 takes in the psychedelic trance sound with artists like Gaudium, Loud, Eat Static &amp; Captain Hook taking on remix duties amongst many others. CD2 takes in the infamous psy-tech sound which Perfect Stranger did so much to hone with his 2008 release Free Clouds. Artists such as Spectre, Jossie Telch &amp; Sensient provide some scintillating remixes alongside a whole host of major artists in this niche area of the psychedelic sound. Last but not least we have CD3, which see&rsquo;s Perfect Stranger revisiting a number of his previous remixes and putting a 2017 production polish on them.

ICONYC is delighted to welcome back Vazik to the label with his brand-new 'What It Takes EP'. The talented Mexican producer has been a well-known entity within the scene and have graced some of the world's finest electronic music labels with his unique and timeless productions. 

On his return Vazik leads with the outstanding 'Astronave'; a stunning driving melodic progressive house affair. The track utilizes a deep groove as foundation, underpinned by a profound bass and smooth synth chords that gradually ease their way to the summit. Unified by a relentless kick drum and dusky atmospheric emotion, the composition climaxes by adding recurrent percussive elements and soft soaked melodies that come together to create a structured sphere of sonic satisfaction. Clever synth phrases complete the picture and create an ingeniously worked piece of art.

The melodic soundscapes of the accompanying title track 'What It Takes' round off this spectacular release. Vazik's influences are immediately evident as subtle freeform concepts drift through percussive inspired instrumentations. Rippling melodies trip along a deep kick that anchors an auricular montage to create a special sonic infused moment, accompanied by a subtle chord line and vocal that is going to leave a mark on your aural perception. Essential stuff!

Vazik has developed a unique style which endeared him to us; having established credentials as masters of his craft. With his return to CONYC, Vazik takes his talents a step further to round off this brilliant underground 2 track crowd pleaser.
