With summer and festival season in full swing, the timing couldn’t be more perfect for us to release the third installment of our ‘Club Drums’ series packed full of dancefloor-wrecking heaters, provided by an eclectic roster of international producers.

Kicking things off is Leed’s own Yilan, previously seen on Grid, Infinite Machine and Earth Movement, he opens the release with a slow yet stomping riddim, with flurries or darbukas banging on your eardrums. 

Hailing from New York, Sister Zo follows up after her banging EPs on Scuffed Recs and 3024 with a deep and hard hitting roller that’s guaranteed to make you move. 

Following up is Rinse France resident, producer and vocalist NOIRE, delivering a menacing and gloomy 4x4 banger. 

Egregore member and release co-curator Kaval comes in next with his trademark ‘FR Funky’ sound everybody is now very familiar with. 

With previous releases on Berlin’s infamous Tresor and All Centre, Zambia’s finest SHE Spells Doom also joins the roster. 

Rounding up this amazing selection of producers is Kindergarten Records’ Despina, ending this musical onslaught with a wonky, breakbeat-infused dancefloor weapon.

Our latest release sees prolific Bristol-based producer Ben Pest step up to the plate with his quaking 'Come To The Yard' EP.

It's high energy from the get-go as the commanding title track takes hold, followed by the fizzing electro, breakbeats and robotic vocal fragments of 'Experting Computers' . On the dark and rugged 'Erase Me', arresting analogue textures coalesce around an absolutely jacking rhythm as the track pounds its way to the centre of the dancefloor. Ben closes out the EP with the machine funk of 'Think Again', an old school acid house-flavoured cut that grooves along with attitude and an infectious 303 bassline.

Bait’s second VEP (Various EP) is a 4-track dive into a rather modern phenomenon: 150 dubstep, as DJs and crowds seem to be enjoying the faster bass sounds, yet broken rhythms and heavy halftime pulses. For this release we’ve got L.A.’s rising bass-music star @carreo, specialised in racing wobblers, who recently released her second solo EP on her label @fastatwork (first one was on Darwin's @specrecords). Track 2 is Berlin-based Femme Bass Mafia member @gaia-formella’s first ever release, a reflection of her upbringing in and around London, drawing inspiration from playful breaks to deep wobbly bass. Third track is by @fastcastle label captain Gent1le $oul, also Berlin-based and pushing hybrid dubstep in the German capital with hot vinyl releases and parties. Last but not least, @splt_music’s mental banger “Grill Party” that Beatrice M. happened to discover in Laksa’s Truant podcast (https://soundcloud.com/truants/truancy-volume-318-laksa) and reached out after dropping an “ID?” comment on soundcloud. The Lyon-based producer never misses, his tracks have been played out multiple times by Garçon and Agonis, in the continuity of merging bass and techno, always with an aspect of prog.

Some thoughts don’t leave you. Some questions linger long after they’ve been asked. Dom Apes’ Wasted Energy EP exists in that space between contemplation and release, between old cycles and new perspectives. Written during a period of upheaval, the record reflects on loss, rejection, and uncertainty, but also on clarity, reinvention, and quiet hope.

The EP rounds off with Fuelless Consumption, which came together on a sober Friday night, written as Dom questioned whether music would still hit the same without the crutch of alcohol. A swelling, introspective closer, it leans into deep, somber textures, like coming up for air after a long night out. It shifts the energy just enough to feel like an ending, but one that leaves the door slightly open.

Created between London and the North East, Wasted Energy sits in the push and pull between movement and stillness, between city life and solitude. It’s the sound of memories resurfacing, of lost ideas finding a new home, and of music acting as both an anchor and a release.

Death is certain, life is not. And both are available at our supermarket. 

With everything that’s happening in the world, one must wonder if there’s breaking free from it all or should they just stop trying to make sense of it. It’s a choice and it isn’t — depending on the circumstances one finds themselves in. What seemed senseless beginning to take form and what had always been solid shatters into pieces: home, family, plans, love, identity, freedom, sex, philosophy, technology, making-it, bank account, self, traumas, patterns, overcoming them, residence, conscience, morals, vodka, values, vulnerability — they have equal chances to serve as safe place or jail, wake or deliverance, life or death — go figure.

In its first release, Patar flips the table — and the cards, and the chips with it. No stake is too high to even mention it. One track and 7 versions of it, as an attempt to transgress from confusion to clarity — or maybe the other way around. Here’s an artistic experiment for you: do not brief, do not declare, do not obey, and do not fight — or do. And see what comes out of it. 

Qurgōn is a pit grave. There are dead horses in it, dead people, dead weapons, and vessels. It stinks and it’s scary. It’s a place where nothing will ever be born, or will it? It requires nothing, silently craving admiration. It only ever serves a collective memory of all the heroes and the blood-thirsty freaks alike. They are one, after all. It only is to be unbothered, looked at in awe and disgust; to be a break out on the smooth surface of the steppe’s ass.  

One artist made a call, seven responded — to dig to the bottom of that pit or touch upon its stony texture.

Here’s another experiment for you: renounce all styles and genres and go with it. Who cares, anyway? Gloomy and epic, repetitive and bass-y — oh, always bass-y. Percussion-thick, yelling, obnoxious, rich. The sound of dying, finding peace, losing it again, and returning back to the hassle. The all-penetrating sound of a baby’s cry and the last exhale of a fighter knocked out for good. Ferocious sirens needling through the layers and layers of dead horses and weapons, clanking, squelching — resonating. With the horrors and hope. With memories and fantasies. With clinging to what seems to be it — and letting go. 

Nothing is certain anymore, yet everything is clear.
