Spacewalker moves on a groovy bassline that instantly sets things in motion – driving, warm, and organic. Around it unfold rhythmic elements that act like pulses: sometimes bouncing, sometimes floating, always in dialogue with the depth of the groove.
The pads open vast spaces, as if each bar reveals a new horizon. The interplay between groove and atmosphere creates a pull that pushes forward while at the same time carrying you into the distance.
Spacewalker is a journey in flow: tangible through the bassline, yet carried by a lightness that turns the gaze both inward and outward.

'Dun Dun Dun' layers a soulful vocal with harmonic analogue pads plus a highly infectious & rolling bassline to produce a deep, stripped back title track.

'Tijuana Jazz Emsemble' keeps the striped back percussion of the EP but adds lush classic house strings and acoustic pianos chords to underpin a pitching, looping vocal.

'Sweet N' Spicy' finishes of the EP with an offbeat bass being joined by soft Rhodes chords and female vocal edits to form a perfect contract to complete the release.

Jazzy Couscous is a Tokyo based label founded in 2014 by Alixkun and Klodio.  Mainly focused on club-oriented House & Techno, also re-issuing rare and under the radar Japanese music. Their most praised work so far being their comp project “House...Once upon a time in Japan”, curated by both Alixkun and Brawther, showcasing forgotten Japanese house heroes.  After a series of crossover EPs mixing reissues and remixes by artists like Kuniyuki, Hugo LX, Brawther or DJ Steaw, Alixkun released two volumes of “Kumo No Muko”, double albums comps of 80s Japananese ambient synth-pop, which I know a lot of you loved.
French producer Matthieu Faubourg is a name you will have have heard. He was involved in the ‘Fair EP’ on STRCTR Records - a Various Artist compilation that included Dubstriker, Harrison BDP and MonooZ.  Matthieu’s track got 3.5 million views on Slav’s Youtube channel! www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdVlfpPAqyk. 
Faubourg's debut album on Jazzy Couscous sees him express deeper shades of his personality. Taking almost a year to compose and written in Vienna, the first track produced was “Winter will be long”.  It announces the long and cold winter nights coming over the city and the atmosphere that it creates. The snow, the cold, the fog, the empty streets. The album was created around the central idea of sobriety.  Matthieu's plan was to conjure up a soundtrack that envelops body and soul, like a journey for the mind.  In particular ‘If You Care' that features German vocalist Meggy.
 "Simplicity Is The Ultimate Sophistication" is not only the title of this album, it’s a quote from Leonardo Da Vinci which resonates with Matthieu. He feels that beauty and joy can be found in simplicity.
The album comes complete with an energetic remix from man of the moment Byron The Aquarius, who adds his groove, swing and rhythm, taking the track to the club.

In the final curation of 2020 we raise a glass to Takis Shelter with a diverse collection of jams showcasing everything from blissed out jazz, funked up house, rich balearic trips and a little sprinkle of joy inducing disco. These come from a selection of our good friends across the planet who have kindly contributed their tracks to make this release happen, a big thanks to the time and effort that everybody has put into this.

100% of the proceeds from this compilation will go directly to Takis Shelter. As someone who has their roots in the music scene, Takis turned his attention from partying all night whilst running his own nightclub, to well, partying all night with more than 450 of dogs and cats that he saved from landfills and rubbish dumps in Crete. After giving up everything he owned to open his shelter, he nearly had to give up the refuge but donations made it possible for him to go on.

This compilation is a nod to all the incredible, selfless work that Takis has put into caring for these animals and will go towards ensuring they are looked after, fed and can eventually find their way to a new loving home. To find out more and donate directly go to takisshelter.org/
