Life After Lockdown With Love

So the Corona virus lockdowns are over but unfortunately I'm still unable to get to the studio to do my usual live weekly radio show due to suffering severe injuries, as a result of a bad cycling accident. So I've decided to continue to record a weekly mix from home until I'm back on my feet. Similar in style to Departures, featuring new and recent music, but selected and arranged to reflect some of the feelings we're all facing in these unprecedented times.

This week inspired by some of the pain and frustration I'm currently going through as I try and recover from my injuries, with healing proving to be very slow and difficult process. Featuring a heady, eclectic and progressive mix of new music by artists such as Stimming, Trentemöller, Daniel Avery, Leon Vynehall, Flying Lotus, Skee Mask, Gila, Sherelle, Conforce, Joram Feitsma and Nils Frahm.

Welcome to the 293th Chapter of the Deep Electronics serie. A weekly released serie that brings you a diversity into the abyss of deep electronic music.This weeks mix is a  hybrid set that's highly experimental with techno combined with a improvisation with the saxophone. Almost jazz with deep techno, techno, ambient. It took me a while to get this but somehow with exicting tracks it builds upon them to create experimental music. Not everybody's  taste but it's a way to expand the art of live music and electronic music.

BIO: 
VOID ZONE is an Italian instrumental duo formed by Pietro Gregori on drums and production and Alessio Dal Checco on saxophones and effects. The musical research accomplished by this duo unifies and brings together different musical worlds such as deep/dub/ambient techno along with a modern and sophisticated jazz language. Electronic music elements blend with acoustic instruments such as drums and saxophone following a purely European sound aesthetic. 

ABOUT THE MIX: 
The podcast was recorded live in an underground garage on -6th floor, in Milan. It’s a hybrid set where the saxophone is let free to improvise on a range of selected tracks, mirroring Void Zone’s mystic and enigmatic sound.

Dub Techno Sessions Episode 49

A classically trained musician with a foundation in jazz and classical music, Asubu found his way into electronic music, following it's progression through House, Techno, Drum and Bass, Electronica and everything in between, with a hunger for innovation and the sound of something new. This eclectic taste informs his sound as a DJ, with his main aim being to lace together all the sounds he loves in a way that makes sense for the time and environment, creating emotive sets of music, limited by nothing but quality, innovation and ultimately the desire for escapism through music. 

Asubu hosts Departures every Sunday night from 9 until 11pm on Select Radio, as well as monthly on Bloop, where he plays an eclectic live excursion of upfront electronic music, recent finds and other undiscovered favourites. Expect an emotive journey of innovative contemporary music, spanning everything from nu-jazz and classical, to underground house, techno and electronica and joining the dots in between.
