Emerging from a small cloud sat atop a rolling hill, Local Knowledge appears with a new story in hand. It’s a damp, leather-bound, somewhat tatty edition, filled with musical adventures dated to a time before the orcs. The first page turns, it is simply titled ~ Knowledge ~

Knowledge begins here, with long[er] form music to enlighten ur mind.

Chapter One in this here sonic tapestry is weaved by Leipzig artisan, Tinkah - an artist we had the good fortune of releasing in 2022, as part of the Return to Nature series.

‘Apathy Is Death’ is a precisely engineered, restless and longing work of experimental bass music. Tinkah has created a sonic landscape that is both mesmerising and haunting. The fundamental note is tension as he speaks a tale of ego and its myriad manifestations.. highs & lows. Climax & anticlimax. Adoration & pity. A 12” quest through the taverns of retrospect.

Este trip es cero lineal y súper lineal a la vez, que era una cosa que tenía muchas ganas de hacer: es un espiral. Está focuseado en las percus pero sobre todo está focuseado en las atmósferas; quería crear una sensación constante de calma y furia. No sé si lo conseguí, espero que sí.

This trip is anti linear and fully linear at the same time, something I really wanted to do: a spiral. It's focused on drums but its more focused on atmospheres; I wanted to create a constant feeling of calm and fury. Don't know if I did, I hope so.

Clemency presents References - her debut EP for Finn’s 2 B REAL. Three deceptively simple percussive pieces, both awkward and elegant.

Each track on the EP feels almost living and breathing; sparse, dissonant synths meet intricate drums and juddering basslines, effortlessly creating momentum and motion across the record.

‘References’ is Bethany Clements Patrick’s first EP under the Clemency alias. She’s a regular behind the decks at Partisan, Soup Kitchen & The White Hotel, and co-runs Manchester’s Mutualism club night, label & NTS show.

Using causality and repetition as a conceptual framework, the release comes with a selection of Clemency’s own references for the record, which includes poetry, literature, geographic coordinates, music and cosmetics - presented at clemencyreferenc.es
