I was feeling nostalgic the other day so I decided to re-record the very first EP of my very first band Despite Behavior.

I wrote those tracks almost 10 years ago and in 2010 I released the first version of this EP all instrumental.
At that time I wasn't into Djent and other too brutal things. I was only listening to bands like Pain Of Salvation, Dream Theater, Symphony X etc ... so this is more Old School Progressive metal and I hope you'll enjoy it anyway.

Here is the re-recorded version of "Aspect Part I : Dementia In Three Acts" with vocals as I imagined it 10 years ago.
This is also my very very very first try at singing so I would love to know your thoughts on this.

Despite Behavior's Aspect Part I - Dementia In Three Acts (re-release 2014)

Ok, let's put it that way, I'm very busy with my day job. Like VEEEERY busy. However, I still got this urge in me to put down riffs all the time.
So the only compromise I found was to use my lunch breaks to let it flow.

Problem : How do I record music without instruments ?

Well, we're in 2015 and Marty McFly is about to get here with his overboard and I'm really not into trying to prove that I can play guitar better than you. Soooooo, that means "let's go for another FULL MIDI EP !!!"
Absolutely no real instruments here, just VSTs, "clics clics clics" and patience.

Also this is my very first attempt at using Logic Pro X. Switching from Cubase to this is far from easy. So please be indulgent :p

The delicious artwork was kindly made by the almighty Igor Omodeï

This EP will never be finished !

This was supposed to be my first Solo EP. But on Friday, Aug 23rd, I felt asleep in the subway. And when I woke up, all my shit were stolen (wallet, keys, phone) including a bag with my computer inside.
On that computer, I started to record that first Solo EP, everything was on it
(Yeah yeah I know, don't harass me with "BACKUPS MATE BACKUPS", I know what it is, I just didn't took the time to do it)

I basically don't feel like doing everything again from scratch ...

So there was 2 options : 
- Deleting the exports I had on Soundcloud
- Releasing this in that "early" state

I hope you guys will enjoy it anyway ;)

(oh yeah I know, Track 1 first drum pattern is the one from Karnivool's "The Caudal Lure". Basically the metric of that pattern was interesting so I took the whole pattern and I planned to change it afterward ... but this will never happen)

This is probably the most difficult programming stuff I've ever done !
Trying to do a mashup with something which is not played with a metronome is so freaking hard.
Anyway, here it is, THE FLAMENCORE !
This is a Metal mashup of one of the most talented and impressive guitarist in the world ! Vicente Amigo : "'Gitano' de Lucia" from the album "De mi corazón al aire"

That's a bit weird but I think it's funny.

AWOUEILLE ! I have just received my new pickups from mister Johan Lundgren and I wanted to make a little comparison.

- First shot is my Ibanez SA160 with stock Axis series pickups, the AH4 and AS2 :
The SA160 is probably not the most expensive guitar around there but as you can see the stock pickups are very good and do the job perfectly. This guitar will probably stay one of my favorite "Go To" guitar.

- Second shot is exactly the same guitar but with Lundgren Pickups "The One" and "60s Vintage" :
As usual, you never go wrong with Lundgren. The humbucker is bright and clear without lacking aggression if you need it. The single coil is also very creamy and you could definitely use it for twangy rhythmics as well.

Both shots have been tracked and mixed EXACTLY the same way :
- Guitar --> Pod X3 --> Apogee Duet 2
- Slight post EQing + D82 Sonic Maximiser
- Drums are "superior drummer" with some drumagog sampled layers
- Bass is DI
