Una Noche En El Club Mix - Borderless Grooves November 2022

Traketeo is a monthly radio residency show hosted by ATALAYA (they/them) and featuring reggaetón, neoperreo and latinx club music created around the world. The show is on every second Saturday of every month 6:00PM-7:00PM. You can expect a varied selection of tracks from established and upcoming artists, with a spotlight segment for trans and queer artists called the Fuegote segment. This month they are joined by LILITH (she/her) @lilmaou. a multi-genre DJ based in Birmingham but originally from the North West. She co-founded Birmingham based party Club Bandit with a few friends and is just about to launch a new night in Manchester called Lustrous, both respectively experimental, DIY parties with a focus on creating and nurturing safe spaces. The music that inspired her to DJ about 4/5 years ago was grime, funky and dubstep, and nowadays plays a really mixed bag with a focus on percussive rhythms. She has a soft spot for reggaeton, cumbia, dembow, baile and perreo since living in Spain and picking up some Spanish and Portuguese.

This month they are joined by Vicc Soulz  (she/her) @viccsoulz Vicc Soulz is a brazilian DJ living in Spain. Her DJ sets are an ecclectic voyage through various genres like electro, breakbeat, ghettotech, brazilian funk and techno. For her guest mix today, she has focused on latin and brazilian rhythms, to allow listeners to get to know the cultural richness that lives within these genres. Vicc Soulz is rejoicing in the increasing popularity that Brazilian Funk is gainin in Europe and, as such, she is bringing a blend of old school funk with its more recent, new school variations as part of her set. Traketeo is a monthly radio residency show hosted by ATALAYA (they/them) and featuring reggaetón, neoperreo and latinx club music created around the world. The show is on every second Saturday of every month 6:00PM-7:00PM. You can expect a varied selection of tracks from established and upcoming artists, with a spotlight segment for trans and queer artists called the Fuegote segment. This month they are joined by DJ Hidrataccioni (she/her) for the second half of the show with a beautiful, experimental, obscure and basey mix. DJ, curator, promoter, producer and cultural agitator. Alias for Hebe Kiebooms, mexican residing in Seville. Project started in 2017 with the intention of mixing latin, tribal, and afro-caribbean rhythms with electronic club music creating a sound palette that drifts from broken beats to rave rhythms with the intention of making you dance non-stop and keeping you holding a fresh water bottle. Co-founder of party collective and netlabel RAWA Club alongside uruguayan DJ Guacha Sabelo, She is also resident DJ at mythical Sala X in Seville and has performed at important venues in Spain such as Razzmatazz, Mondo Vigo, Industrial Copera, Siroco, Planta Baja, among others. Recently debuted as a producer with the track Syntrail as part of the two-volume compilation of Latin American producers by netlabel WAVAWAVA (Mexico) and with Urgent Need in Compilado Vol. 1 published by Rawa Club.

TRAKETEO w/ATALAYA: Celebrating 6 months with Old Skool Reggaetón - July 2023

Traketeo is a monthly radio residency show hosted by ATALAYA (they/them) featuring reggaetón, neoperreo and latinx club music created around the world. The show is on every second Saturday of every month 6:00PM-7:00PM.  For this club perreo special episode, ATALAYA has selected a variety of new-wave club reggaetón, neoperreo and RKT tracks influenced by club music production and some of the old-skool influences from the 90s and early 2000s, denoting a darker, gloomier sound. Bandcamp releases and Soundcloud free-downloaded tracks are included in the first half with a special mention to today's Fuegote Spotlight Artists: Yajaira La Bellaca and Genosidra. 

For this episode, ATALAYA is joined by EL APHA (they/them/elle), a Scottish-Mexican DJ, space-holder and visual artist. They are the co-creator of Yo Perreo Solx (@yoperreosolx.gla); a queer, Latinx club night for marginalised genders to shake their booty’s without disruption and to bring Latinx culture, music and hot, sweaty, sexy vibes to Glasgow. 

EL APHA likes to bring a mix of underground reggaeton, cumbia(ton), dembow, neoperreo, latin electronic mixed in with some classics and latin house. They strive to bring this type of music, which isn’t heard enough in Scotland, to different spaces; with queer spaces at the centre.

Last month NIIX welcomed the incredible ATALAYA to EQUINOX, who's fresh perreo selections have been making waves in the UK club + radio scene! Their work is currently focused on contributing to the UK’s newest wave of queer Reggaetón and Latin club rhythms, enchanting crowds at the likes of @riposte.london, @lustrous.mcr @sftoc and @tranuary.

Celebrating 1 Year of Traketeo with atalaya on Steam Radio - February 2024

Club Atalaya is a bi-monthly residency showcasing the many club genres and sounds that soundtrack atalaya’s early career in Manchester as a DJ and learning music producer. Expect bouncy rhythms, pounding basses and some exciting guests coming up.

Mami Chula is a South-American born, Leeds-based DJ, artist, producer, curator, and facilitator. Her work focuses on exploring Latinx sounds and sounds from the diaspora. She started off as a Reggaeton/Dembow DJ but has been exploring more industrial percussive sounds focusing on sonic resistance, historically marginalised sounds and alternative clubbing practices. She is also the founder of Azúcar Creative Space [@azucar_creativespace] a creative project focusing on spaces of joy that centre Latinx lives in the diaspora whilst creating and nurturing community.

Mami Chula is coming back to Manchester to play alongside Atiké and yeguachita at our event @nothingtocelebratemcr , a queer-centering counter-celebration of indigenous cultures of Abya Yala at The DBA on Sunday the 13th of October.
