Ataro is the sonic avatar of Farhad Ataroditehrani, hailing from the Persian lands of Tehran, residing in London England as of 2005.
The project was conceived around 2009, exploring the darker realm of psychedelic trance, comprising a unique blend of heavy basslines, groovy percussive parts, emotional atmospheres, cutting edge sound design, and influences from his native Iran.
His restless musical mind spawned a few side projects; in 2010 Civil Disobedients with Conrad, and shortly after, a dark prog project called Ashtoz with Babak (aka Akōman).
He’s due to unleash this year a new project with Akōman called Angra Minu on DarkWeb Records.
In the last 12 years he played some of the biggest stages around the world including the infamous Psycrowdelica, Modem, Master of Puppets, Hadra festivals.
He released dozens of tracks on many notable labels like Free Radical Records, Damaru, Freak Records, Alice-D, Temple Twisters, Hadra Recs, to name but a few. His album Annihilation was released in 2018 on Freak records.
Ataro is also a founding member of the Intersomnia and Peaking Duck Collective party organisations in London as well as the newly formed label DarkWeb Records.
