My name is Joost Roks. My DJ alias is Esse. 

Following my first rave back in early 2019, I knew I really wanted to get behind the decks. The spiritual connection I felt with the music was a new way of experiencing it. A few weeks later I taught myself how to do it and I experienced a lot of happiness and joy while doing it. Sharing this feeling with my best friend made it even better. And with every other person listening to the music I was mixing, this feeling grew exponentially. 

Throughout the years I’ve loved experimenting with playing music across the whole spectrum. I guess you can say I’m kind of a Jack of all trades. Recently I’ve been exploring the realm of dark and hypnotic fast-paced techno. 

Learning to produce my own tracks is my one New Year’s resolution. I’m very excited to share my happiness and joy with the people.

Karin é o projeto de Samuel Bastos, nascido e residente da cidade do Rio de Janeiro.

Sempre teve interesse por sonoridades intensas, o que o levou diretamente para o mundo do techno industrial assim que começou a frequentar a cena underground de techno em 2018.

Sua visão de hard techno é baseada em suas experiências em diferentes pistas ao longo dos anos, onde reconheceu que existe um grau de sensibilidade e romantismo dentro da intensidade e escuridão características deste subgênero.

Dentro da discotecagem, conduz a construção de seus sets sempre com baterias explosivas e distorcida, abusando desde elementos atmosféricos sombrios e sons metálicos característicos do techno industrial, aos pads e basslines obscuros influenciados pelo trance e EBM, todos elementos que também inspiram suas produções. Dentre as suas principais influências estão Kobosil, In Verruf, Tham, O.B.I, Fractions, entre outros.

I am happy to share with you Part One of the live recording of my all night long set at Warf Chambers in Leeds for Rogue Puppet on 07/04/2023.

The first two hours of this set was all vinyl focussing on tribal, funky and hardgroove records.

PART ONE - Rogue Puppet: Balrog All Night Long [Recorded Live at Warf Chambers, Leeds - 07042023]

𝐑𝐔𝐒𝐓 - real name Przemek Puzewicz, has been an active member on the polish scene as a DJ and event promoter since 2005. By this time he had a chance to try a variety of different techno styles such as: classic, acid, uk, groove and hard getting sometimes close to schranz, however the sound created on TB-303 has always been closest to his taste. His sets are full of dynamics, rolling drums, cut vocals mixed with fine amount of acid, usually hard but not necessarily heavy. As an event promoter he was introduced to the scene with Sleepwalkers crew but it is Warsaw Mechanism, which he had co-created, that was the biggest success among polish underground techno collectives. Currently he works on a new project Theia Crush which started in March 2023.

Virtual Underground : What things inspires most your work? 
SYLAD : I think that people, travel, places, cities, nature and event new taste of food. I’m also a photographer so lot’s of things inspire me to create my photos and music. I also like to watch how my friends started to djing and where are they now. I like energy, creative and positive people around me. It’s also depends on my mood. I listen to techno music a lot but I like other type of music too. I’m trying to not to limit in music.
