درباره‌ی این قطعه: «شِمشال» سازی است شبیه و هم‌خانواده‌ی نی، که شکل فلزی آن در مناطق کردنشین ایران، عراق، ترکیه و... مرسوم است. نوای محزون و منحصربه‌فرد این ساز، چیزی میان نوای نی و فلوت است، اما به نظرم زخمی‌تر از نغمه‌ی نی است و وحشی‌تر از صدای کنترل‌شده‌ی فلوت.
