random thought of the day: have you noticed that Jennifer is the only one that is referenced by her first and last name on a regular basis? It's Cassie, Cole, Deacon, Ramse, Jones, and Jennifer Goines. Sometimes Jennifer, but just as likely the full name. I love it so much.

It goes against the narrative - Terry has said several times that this story is Cassie's story, and Jones dying, and Cole climbing into the seat, and then showing up in the Keys, that's Cole's story. That would be how Cole gets to his perfect moment in the Red Forrest. Cassie was ready to accept it. She was ready to be there. But Cole would need that push; he would need to believe that everything happened for a reason. Changing the perspective of the narrative at the end works for either choice. I can't believe I just talked myself around on this. Damnit.
