Soledrifter’s latest for Atlantic Standard Recordings delivers two distinctvely house tracks with bounce, but going in two different directions. “My Wandering Eye” takes us deeper and darker, with subtle hints of techno and a funky throb fit for the big room. “Feeling You” brings a groove that rides on a bed of pure west coast bass while simultaneously conjuring california sushine. Happy bells over soothingly bent chords cushions the cool vocal samples perfectly, letting them coax blissful smiles and firm agreement in being unable to stop this feeling.

Mucky Ebanz brings us his latest for Atlantic Standard, two tracks of fearless house that drive right to the heart of the dancefloor. Understated, swirling and heady bass grooves support a blurry, medicated mood that is punctuated by remarkable stabs, devious chords, and busy percussion. Equal parts throb and bounce, Mucky mixes a house cocktail appropriate for either nighttime or daytime. Once again, Mucky’s insistent, bold drums coupled with unpretentious accompaniment deliver  inevitable fulfillment.

This duo from San Antonio, Texas turn in a warm disco EP, where discreetly sneaking in the sample till you’re smiling to the house groove is how it’s all done. Atlantic Standard Recordings is very proud to present Boston’s J Paul Getto with his inaugural release on the label. So Fine is a track with a sweet disco sample workout, chunky walking bass, and left turns that are layered with stabs and drums that hit with surgical precision. Denver native and jackin’ house progenitor, Rescue, delivers his “Heartbreaker Remix”, bringing his remixing skills to pound out the bass and drive up the tempo to rework “Fly” into a deep house floor-filler.

The original mix is a jackin’ house track with sharp turns into the jazz quarter with a new smile waiting around each corner. With his signature tight drum programming and vocal accents, Canada’s Soledrifter reveals his reinterpretation by creating some hand-raising loops, adding some liquid sub bass, and taking a deeper path.

The titular head of House music in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Veev drops “Give It Up”, his second single for Atlantic Standard Recordings. Coaxing a jazzy vibe from dark corners, flute licks and vocal stabs ride over tight drums and chubby bass to deliver a jackin’ house track with a unique attitude. Veev masters both dark and light moods with this one, merging mournful trumpets and light chords with a relentless rhythm section.

Texas-based, Father-and- son duo The Stoned turn in their second single for Atlantic Standard, and deliver a couple of sublime sample workouts. Groovy sunshine, swirling sweeps, and bouncing bass give depth to two disco-fuelled stompers. The mournful guitar lick simmering on bed of funk tells us Nobody’s Perfect, while skipping beats, a headstrong strut, and horny stabs remind us There’s Nothing To It But To Do It.

Halifax, Nova Scotia on Canada’s east coast is an unassuming place for a hotbed of House music, but it is fertile ground for beats and grooves that rival those that drive dancefloors anywhere in the world. It is here where a group of DJs and producers joined forces to bring Atlantic Standard Recordings to life in order to deliver that abundance of rhythm and soul to friends and fans. Originally started in 2005 by DJs Nick Nonsense and Chris Matheson with producer Dmitry “Deemah” Mescheryakov, ASR went on to release thirteen EPs between 2006 and 2009, garnering attention and respect from DJs and house music heads all over the world. After a few years away from the mixing desk for Nick and Chris, Dmitry remained busy building the profile of his most successful recording project thus far, Soledrifter, putting out over 50 releases on over a dozen labels. 
The arrival of 2017 breathes new life into ASR as new beginnings take the label in new directions with forthcoming release of new projects and collaborations. Halifax recording artist Veev, himself an established artist with a deep catalogue over a variety of house music’s best and most influential labels, joins the stable with a series of hot new tracks. Matheson’s recording alias Mucky Ebanz and Nick Nonsense both have been working in the studio and new music in the pipe slated for release this year. Expect new material from Soledrifter, as well as new collaborations and remixes from all four members of ASR and those by friends and colleagues all dropping in 2017 from Atlantic Canada’s home of house music.
