We're very lucky that Loran, the troubadour of the Alps, brought us another fantastic tune to work on. It showed up in our inbox as an already-complete radio hit, as far as we were concerned, but Loran wanted to layer up the arrangement and we were of course more than happy to oblige. We wound up with a longer chorus and a whole lot of the requested layering, hopefully evoking some of the baroque folk-pop arrangements of circa 1965-68 and with some modern twists. 
We didn't have to do much; Loran supplied not just the voices and guitars, but also the great mandolin and whistle work. We discussed how to build it up without masking the greatness of his input, and over the past few weeks have tried a whole bunch of things, some of which haven't even stayed in - but that's the fun of this kind of project.

Not so long ago, Bri’s wife and kids found an old box of reel-to-reel tapes whilst clearing out their garage.  On one of them we found this, a song we believed had been ‘lost’.  It was like finding buried treasure.  
We owe a big thank you to Shek Kamari at Core Arts (https://soundcloud.com/coreartsmusic) for all his help in restoring the old 4-track tape to it’s original clarity.  
The final mastering is an Unwritten Production (https://soundcloud.com/the-unwriters) - grateful thanks to them for such wonderfully skilled work.  
The track almost sounds as if it was recorded yesterday. 

Finally, thank you to everyone who has supported our page over the years.  We never expected our music to receive all of the amazing attention it has and want every last one of you to know how much this has meant to all of us.  It’s something we will never forget.

A song about climate change and our effect on the planet, its climate and our future. Inspired by a Nature paper about 'the trillionth tonne' of CO2 emissions, this song had/has a working title of 'Sonoma' and was originally about grapes 'withering on the vine'... I didn't realise that 'withering on the vine' is an expression about doing nothing while a problem gets worse and worse, which fits in very well with the subject of climate change.

This song is the 'twin' song of 'Fool' - both songs were written within 48 hours of each other back in May, and both songs were recorded and published online within 24 hours of each other... in August. Both songs were written and played using a bouzouki as opposed to a guitar.

Thanks so much Mamoru for the joy of singing on this emotional beauty, just superb sensitive work from you, and very inspiring your take was.
There are a couple or so of distortions in the recording, for my snowball mic can only cope with so much, and even though I did several versions after this one and managed to reduce these distortions, they did not have the same feel, even though technically they were clearer.
