Streams is a collaborative studio album by New York rappers ATM and Six The Don. It was released on Feb 10th, 2021, through The Base Collection Inc. Prior to the release ATM and Six The Don had known each other for over a decade but had never collaborated musically. Both driven by experiencing fatherhood, in debt conversations about life, beliefs and legacy. They originally planned to record a 7-song EP but the project eventually evolved into a full length album. All of the tracks on Streams feature vocals by ATM and Six The Don with the exceptions of, The Chiefs Manifesto and Elohim, which are solo records on the project. Production and creative direction was primarily selected by The Base Collection Inc. A creative content company owned by Six The Don that specializes in entertainment, fashion, furniture, arts, design and technology development. The production consisted of 15 different producers. The album is masterfully scored with musical elements that range from soulful samples, on songs like Eden, to heavy bass and drum driven style production, on songs like All Prophet. With the sonic canvas in place, the two would deliver timeless concepts, plush flows and expansive writing. Capturing the stream of consciousness stemming from conversations they would have throughout the recording process. The lyrical content includes references to events that shaped their childhood, ownership, generational wealth and legacy. They touch on social issues such as the murder of Nipsey Hussle, entrepreneurial advice given by Damon Dash and re-evaluating social standards and moral code for future generations. The entire project was recorded in two studio sessions. Ten of the fifteen songs were recorded in a four hour session. The album continues to receive positive reviews from music critics who praise the rappers performances, production selection and point out the chemistry of ATM and Six The Don. The duo has redefined the word streams as, “perpetual energy unbounded by space and time” and “the universal flow of least resistance”. As the music industry witnesses the rise of digital streaming platforms and digital music consumption, the two rappers have coined the hashtag #everythingstreams as a double entendre that best suits this project.
