Early 1990s. Different electronic music is like a rushing stream, converging from all directions. Many new integrations, new changes and new looks have emerged. The arrival of "IDM Intelligent Dance Music" has given many styles that were on the verge of extinction a chance to be reborn. For example, "Artificial Intelligence" published by Warp, "The Philosophy Of Sound And Machine" published by Rephlex, and "Modulation & Transformation" published by Mille Plateaux are all interpretations of early musicians' contribution of new thinking and techniques to musical changes.

The rhythm of "Zuò Mèng" is based on 4/4 beats with a few syncopated notes, swinging back and forth between the first and second half in one measure. When the third melody note comes out, the drum loop also pops out. The design is to quickly lead the drums into the richness, and then leave more time for the changes in notes. The changes in notes appear slow and sparse, and it is almost evenly buried in the six minutes. At three minutes and twenty-eight seconds the music moves to a new map. Nanke County!

t all starts with a discrete, almost instinctive percussive motif.
A loop that breathes, stretches, transforms itself without ever breaking the thread. Around it, the textures slowly take shape: a pad like a held breath, then sound fragments - glitches, interference, tension - that disturb the surface.

With the track Wadis, Biocym composes a shifting landscape where structure is never imposed but suggested, leaving each element to find its place over time. The modular sounds created in VCV Rack gradually infiltrate the sound space, creating a fragile dialogue between calm and disturbance. The result is a subtle tension of unstable equilibrium and rhythmic hypnosis.

Wadis Variations extends this spell through four singular rereadings by Piante Vive, Sauvage Dub Trio and Arto. Each artist takes ownership of the raw material, transforming it to reveal new forms: a deeper pulse, a wider space, an unexpected vertigo.

An EP like an oasis in mutation, where each variation reveals a new facet of sound material.

For his first album, Hidolas explores the depths of the creative and destructive forces of nature: volcanoes.

Drawing from field-recorded fragments and singular sensations gathered across the Aeolian volcanic archipelago, he delicately composes a sonic journey that traverses the seething depths of telluric forces and the serene landscapes of caves, forests, and shorelines — a quest to reach the primal source of the Earth’s soundscape.

The field recordings — capturing both the rumble of underground volcanic activity and the ambient soundscapes of the natural world — bear witness to a resilient, flourishing life on the edge of fiery annihilation. Through the intricate layering of natural and synthetic textures, the music seeks to evoke the ambivalent sensation of simultaneous calm and danger, beauty and desolation.

Enshade is an electronic music artist based in Lyon, specializing in creating immersive soundscapes at the intersection of atmospheric techno and deep music. Active on the scene for several years, he has distinguished himself by his ability to fuse hypnotic rhythms with captivating sound textures, thus creating auditory experiences that are both introspective and danceable. He joined the Lyon-based label CWR in 2024.

As we roll onto  Episode 325 we are joined by ABSIS, a true pioneer of the Barcelona Electronic music scene. This show is an exclusive Live Recording of his Warmup set at LAUT CLUB Barca a few weeks ago!

ABSIS is a Barcelona-based DJ and producer known for his deep and introspective Techno music. He has been a regular in the Barcelona scene since the late 90s, performing at events like The Loft (Razzmatazz) and Sonar and Mostra. ABSIS explores the deeper side of electronic music, seamlessly transitioning between Ambient and Techno. He has released music on labels like Hivern Discs, Oslated, and Huinali Recordings.
