Atmospheric Disturbance (2018 Remix)

We have an old, out of tune piano and I decided to record some noises from it. Knocks, scrapes, etc. and put them on different tracks. Something odd happened and it put irregular spaces between things and when I played them all at the same time...this is the result. The only processing I did on this was some compression to limit the loudest hits, some panning effects and mixed the levels. Otherwise, what you hear is how it was recorded. Natural reverb and all! Hope you enjoy it!

Accidental Avant Garde

In today's political climate, I'm running more and more into this quote from Dr. King:

"Cowardice asks the question, is it safe; expediency asks the question, is it politic; vanity asks the question, is it popular, but conscience asks the question, is it right?"

So I sought it out and it was from a speech he gave in 1967 at the National Conference for New Politics in Chicago. What struck me about the speech is how some of the things he spoke about are still occurring today.

I decided to turn that quote and other excerpts from the speech into a song. Since it got me thinking, hopefully it gets you thinking as well. Enjoy!
