Welcome to the 12th episode of the Gekiga Podcast. Coming off the heels of my recent Colombia trip, I’m stoked to share this very special episode featuring one of my favorite up and coming producers, Colombia’s very own: Esteban Miranda. 

Hailing from Roldanillo, Valle del Cauca, Esteban immersed himself in electronic music from an early age. His passion for techno eventually steered him towards production where he developed a singular sound defined by rugged, aggressive rhythms that pulsate beneath deep, shadowy textures.

Esteban’s exceptionally crafted tracks have been released to high praise on multiple prestige labels such as Faut Section, [R]3volution Records, and Signal LTD.  Regularly featured in sets of acclaimed artists such as Wata Igarashi, Takaaki Itoh, Dax J, James Ruskin, and Lewis Fautzi, his dark, textural soundscapes have shaken dance-floors worldwide.

Today’s set is an embodiment of Esteban’s finely tuned sonic aesthetic. I’m beyond stoked and thankful for Esteban’s contribution to the Gekiga podcast. This is just the start to our collaborative journey.

PURVEYANCE TECHNO TRANSMISSIONS #018 llega desde Albacete.

Rubén Monsalve, conocido artísticamente como Monsalve, es un DJ y selector español especializado en mezcla con vinilo, cuya propuesta sonora se distingue por su rigor técnico, visión artística y un amplio espectro estilístico dentro de la música electrónica contemporánea. Su sonido abarca desde el techno más crudo, groovero, old school hasta territorios industriales, EBM o él electro, sin abandonar una búsqueda constante de dinamismo, fluidez y cohesión musical.
En sus sesiones, Monsalve construye narrativas sonoras a través de capas de textura, contraste rítmico y evolución armónica, apelando tanto al cuerpo como a la mente del oyente. Ha compartido cabina con artistas destacados como Adriana López, Reeko, Christian Wünsch, Kike Pravda, Ocktawian, Anika Kunst, Raúl Parra, Héctor Mad, Tensal o jsprv35 entre otros.
En 2023 funda Phono Music Club, un proyecto dedicado a la difusión de la cultura del vinilo y el sonido analógico en Albacete, con una clara vocación curatorial y educativa. En 2024 co-crea junto a DMTR la marca ABISMO, centrada en la experimentación sonora y el coleccionismo, posicionándose como una plataforma con identidad estética definida y compromiso con el underground.
Ha actuado en clubs de referencia como Club Gordo, Family Club, Killing time, LASOCIACIØN o Sala MUV, consolidando su reputación como artista versátil, técnico y con una clara propuesta de valor en la escena nacional.

Hailing from Santiago de Chile, eclectic talent Marcelo Antonio is a formidable voice for deep, mind-bending techno. Since 2018 the DJ/Producer has been putting out a growing number of releases on labels like Float, Keyhole, Methodical, Antiterra, EVOD Music, and delivered killer sets across his native Chile and Europe, honing a class of sound that’s full-bodied, deep and geared for marathon raves. His self-published work via Bandcamp-only outlet Out of Sight too, offers a further glimpse into his intimate studio workings: high-concept and movement driven tracks that foment rhythmic contemplation. His frequent collaborators include widely recognised industry staples like Kwartz, DVS1, Kr!z, Ruben Ganev, TWR72, Border One, Biri and Samuli Kempi, a sounding board comprised of peers that share in his passion for primal loops. It’s an elegant techno that layers up textures and builds up tension second by second, and steers its bow towards a distant and euphoric horizon. This master of mood is here with a number that’ll push your body and mind to the limit, liminal techno that hypnotises and fringes the frontier of techno. OPH is a French-born DJ and producer based in Berlin, recognized for his dedication to vinyl and his deep connection to the city’s techno culture. His journey began in Lyon, where he was active as a music journalist and ran a webzine focused on the local scene. In 2014 he moved to Berlin, a decisive step that allowed him to immerse himself in the city’s clubs and to start playing regularly.

Over the years, OPH has shaped his sound through record digging and a broad musical background, channeling these influences into sets that balance intensity and emotion. This approach has brought him to play acclaimed closing sets at Berghain and RSO.

Beyond his solo work, he performs alongside his close friend Chami in their Face 2 Face project. Together they have played at iconic venues such as Berghain, Bassiani and Womb in Japan.

In recent years, OPH has also turned to music production, adding a new layer to his artistic journey and opening the way for future projects that reflect his ever evolving vision.

GEKIGA PODCAST EP.16 - ADRIAN SKIBA

On today’s episode we’ve got Adrian Skiba, a Poland-born, Manchester-based DJ and producer who first got hooked on electronic music as a teenager back home in Olsztyn. Upon moving to Manchester in his early twenties, Adrian dove deeper into DJing and producing, experimenting with different sounds before settling into the hypnotic, driving techno project he now runs under the name SKZ.

Adrian also co-founded the platform and event series Refractɨon and joined Polish Techno.logy as both a resident and curator. Since 2022 his music’s been crushing dance floors worldwide as featured in sets of giants like DJ Nobu, Takaaki Itoh, Tensal, and Svreca. And now, with his own label Arya launching in 2025, he’s starting to put out music under his real name — Adrian Skiba - marking the next step in his journey.

GEKIGA PODCAST EP 16 - ADRIAN SKIBA

MKO is a key figure in the Polish techno scene, with more than a decade of experience shaping Warsaw’s electronic music landscape. As a resident of Jasna1 and a member of the Slapsuper crew, he has been an essential presence behind the decks and in the community. Previously, he was responsible for the dype collective and a series of influential events, and today his full energy is dedicated to his own club night, Shadows, a project that continues to push forward the city’s underground culture.

Musically, MKO’s vision flows effortlessly between different shades of techno, weaving together deep, dubby textures, hypnotic and trippy atmospheres, and the timeless groove of Detroit. His sets are characterized by subtle shifts and an immersive sense of progression, designed to keep dance floors moving while opening space for introspection. With his distinctive style, MKO has become known for creating journeys that reflect both his roots and his forward-looking approach to sound.

For our next Techno Minded Hero, we have one born in Romania, but currently based in Italy.

This talented producer first had releases on Nulabel, Deadcert, Plunk Recordings, and more recent and forthcoming releases on Decoy,7teen Recordings, Concepto Hipnotic, Electrax, DMT recordings, Toxic Recordings, Berlin Underground.

Besides all of this, at this moment he has found a home at Wall Music. Where beloved guest at walls-events and at the moment working on bringing to life a sublabel of Wall Music, a new platform on which to showcase his own interpretation of the techno. So be on the look-out for that.

2017 will bring plenty of new material and collaborations with Mike Wall, MZR, Samuel L.Session and long time friends Vidrik and Eduard Szilagyi (Aka Yute).

For the Drone Podcast, he granted us a hybrid live/set, mainly with his own work completed with a few tracks by Wall Music Artists and Close friends. With most being an exclusive premiere.
