This week's mix is provided by Juri Heidemann, a Berlin based dj and producer. He caught our attention with his productions, mainly released on his own Bandcamp or on labels such as Be As One Imprint, Instinkt Lab and Corpus Records. Influenced by a lot of different electronic genres and his environment, he creates his own vision of techno and works on several projects.
The mix includes tracks by his favorite artists and himself. Make sure to keep your eyes open for his releases later this year.

Albert also known as @malandro_ando has been passionate about music and sound since he was a kid, at the age of 14 his musical journey began playing guitar in a rock band in his home town Quito.

Now based in Berlin his focus is on electronic music, currently studying sound engineering to one day contribute to the club scene and music in general on the technical side of it. As an active party goer who loves dancing, his mixes should always be perceived as music for the dancefloor. 

Style wise, his sound is versatile and still evolving, but elements that are always present on his mixes are mental loops, percussions packed with groove, a mixture between raw elements and eclectic atmospheres, and usually high bpm to never lose the intensity and attention on the dancefloor, with a mixture from old and new tracks.

Malandrø is also a co-founder of @stateofemergencyberlin , a techno collective based in Berlin where they run a series of podcast and events, where they can offer a platform to artists and party goers to express themselves freely.

Some of his favorites in productions and doing at the moment are @cravomusic , @phlbrg and @alarico_katana.

For the last six years, he has explored and experimented using various styles of techno. Intuitive and unique, his productions have been largely inspired by a Eurorack Modular Synthesiser.

Hey dears 💜👽

I would love to introduce to you Stier / @Roundthree /, a very kind person and great artist from Argentina, who is living in the capital city of Buenos Aires. 

Stier was influenced by the synth sound of the '80s and '90s and in 2011, he dived into the universe of techno for the first time. While exploring all of its subgenres, he was digging deep to find the talent hidden within himself. He always thought that there is no rules in music, everyone simply puts into it their own way of creation and feeling and after all their rhythm becomes what they feel it should become.

In 2018, he started with making his own music, a work which remains in constant progress even today. Rediscovering, reintroducing, and reconfiguring the context. Stier became a performer and audio producer who experiments with a great variety of musical streams. Every interpretation is done in order to create an atmosphere based on techno and generative art. 

He has released his music with PRX Records, DifferentSound Records, Analogue Network, Re:flect Recordings and many more.

STIER'S ANSWERS ABOUT THE FUTURE

“ Techno scene is now better than ever. There’s a huge pool of talented producers who are beginning to emerge. I like all the feedback we give and receive among emerging artists, I feel there is a lot of connection and we try to give each other a hand in every way. My goal is to continue doing what I do, I hope for a long time, continue releasing good music, without focusing on names or fashion. Never lose my personality, the vision and work humbly without messing with someone. ”


What are your imaginations about the future on Earth in general?

“ I think humankind will have to make a difficult decision at a certain point. It is clear that the Earth is not in its best state and in many cases the damage we have caused is irreversible. We cannot maintain the idea that some people are more deserving than others. We probably need to return to a more simple way of thinking, where everyone has a purpose and contributes effectively to society. We have to change in a big way. ”

Truxx are a dj/producer duo who’s interaction with any electrical device stands at the core of their techno making process. A conversation with the computer results in the most fast and thriving techno. Bringing the sound to a pure tone of the sinus wave is a defining trait which they always try to incorporate in their music. Hence it is that they define their techno style as “bleepje techno”. This combined with lots of percussive rhythmic elements creates the sound which they love to make. Getting the listener in that never ending hypnotic state is what they want to achieve. Knowing that feeling by being in the crowd, it is now time to give that feeling to a new wave of post-covid party people.

hyaltee (@hyaltee) is a producer/DJ from the capital area of Iceland and is based in Berlin. He is a resident DJ of the collective State of Emergency (@s.o.e.collective).
His musical journey started with playing drums when he was 14 years old. Since then he has played in countless bands ranging from progressive death metal to alternative electronica.
From studying drums and music he found inspiration to move to Berlin to strive for a more personal career in music production and since then he has found himself diving deep into the sounds of techno.
With a strong focus on rhythm, groove and expressive harmonies he plays and produces whatever comes to him naturally and that is what translates to the mix we hear.
