this is the fourth part in a series of house mixes meant to capture the grooves, sounds, feelings and moods of the first underground dance parties that took place at the first inclusive underground dance clubs, as well as all the history that club culture was born of, roots which i have become obsessed with during my career as a DJ. queer and coloured in southside chicago in the late 70s, a new club opened up called the warehouse, which would become the namesake for a genre of music that would continue to evolve and change the world for decades. something of a religious experience, it's impossible to understand the magical potential of a soulful 4/4 groove without really experiencing house music, but this mix series attempts to scratch the surface.

the fourth iteration of this mix series hones in on the sounds of southside chicago, new york, and detroit. piano, gospel, deep & vocal house. straight, no chaser.
