SECRET SEDUCTION AFTERHOURS MIX

In December 2017 I recorded what was unquestionably the best mix I have ever done, and the response to it was amazing - thanks in no small part to it being publicly endorsed by Quivver himself. I joked a few months afterwards that I may never record another mix again, as how could I top that?! In reality though, as long as I keep finding music that excites me, I’ll keep recording mixes.

Over the course of this year I have been involved in three joint mixes that were recorded live, which is always a thrill, and there’s been nine hours of live mixes added to my profile since July - however I get most enjoyment from planned ones. I love working on the architecture of big mixes, and find it so exciting when everything develops and branches out - and eventually comes together in an epic mix.

This actually started out as what was meant to be a one hour promo mix for a club even that I was playing at (the Dayglow mix that was recorded there was posted on my profile in August), but that mix never materialised. My natural instinct to expand things out as much as they can go took over, and here we are with a five hour affair.

As always, if you are kind enough to find the time to listen, I really appreciate it – and I’m sure that you’ll find it a good use of your time if you’ve liked my previous mixes. It builds and releases tension over and over again, is full of atmosphere and emotion, with plenty moments of high drama as it goes. I’m immensely proud of it and really hope you enjoy it. 

Every time I put out a planned mix I’m always certain it’s the best I’ve ever done – if I wasn’t, I wouldn’t put it out there. The passing of time occasionally proves you wrong, but at this moment I am certain that it is better than last December’s - time will tell if I’m right. But enough of these portentous words - please enjoy the mix! Huge thanks to Kev Wright for stitching together the split Traktor files.

PPS - I had a small heart attack when the mix jumped during the Sasha remix of M83 when I was listening on the app the other day. It did it twice.  In case anyone has any problems, the source file is fine and downloads are enabled x
