Dansu Discs enlist Melbourne/Naarm party starters IN2STELLAR for their 47th edition via the 'Body Beat' EP.

The EP kicks off with the title track 'Body Beat'. It's pulsating rhythm is driven by a menacing 4/4 kick and bass bin rattling low end, juxtaposed to the hypnotic, sensual vocal top line creating a heavy piece of hardgroove gear. We're met with more twisted, techno affected beats on 'Something I Said', this time with the psychedelia turned up just a notch. Disconcerting, warped vocal samples bounce along intermittently by cleverly placed percussion, all once again propelled by a classic peak time kick, snare, hat & bass combination.

The impressive 3 tracker wraps up with 'Below Surface' and brings with it a bit of a gear shift for the closing stanza. The pair employ elements of dub techno and deep house for a track thats equal parts groove and melancholic to complete an extremely well rounded, versatile release from a label synonymous with genre diversity.

Qnete’s back in the building for a third X-Kalay release and it’s an anticipated return for the prominent purveyor of prog. Four diverse but coherently related tracks with pit stops in deep house and electro territory

We open proceedings with a dose of the lysergic sound that has become his trademark since debuting on the label in 2021. Evoking ritual and ceremony, ‘Going Short‘ commences with choral pads that beckon to the altar. A slo-mo exercise in dancefloor hypnosis with trace echoes of bleep.

Where ‘Wrapped’ takes a turn toward mellow, ‘Stepperals’, like its A1 counterpart, recalibrates trance tropes into something more chugging and restrained. Another example of Qnete smudging his third eye on a tunnelling, wormhole flex.

And finally, the Leipzig native signs off with a nod to the American Midwest. Opening cerebral gates in a way that recalls classic Detroit In Effect, closing track ‘Circuit Friends’ taps into the futurist utopia imagined by Detroit electro’s pioneers.

Adam Pit’s Grounded EP sees the space•lab favourite exploring deeper, techno-inspired terrains. Opening track, ‘Schtoopbloop’ traces mystical synth lines and expansive vocals, underpinned by a satisfyingly substantial, driving baseline. Track two, ‘Tiptoe’, enters Pits’ iconic breaksy palette - equal parts dreamy and slick, this is the wipeout soundtrack for the next century. On the flipside, Konduku dips his toe into remix duties, offering up a shimmering, spiralling rework of the original. Finally, closing up the release, title track ‘Grounded’ growls into view, rising from sub-heavy foundations into dubby, treacle-speed sounds.
