A track inspired by early reggae and soundsystem culture, with current sound and powerful basses, in a collaboration of Don Plok and Dunumba Soundsystem with Soom T, a reference of the world scene in its genre.

About Don Plok

Don Plok is a producer, DJ, and percussionist based in Buenos Aires with over 13 years of activity. He mixes contemporary rhythms with traditional African patterns; Classic Vinyl Samples, and Synthesizers. His inﬂuences varied from Latin American Folk, Dub, Electronic Music, and the Cumbias of his teenage years.

Founder and resident of Guateque Soundz, since 2010- with which he has enveloped countless artists like La Delio Valdez, Uji, and La Dame Blanche. In 2018 he also co-founded Dunumba Soundsystem.

During the last years, he toured through Latin America and Europe at festivals such as Fusion (Germany), Goulash Disko (Kroatien), and Movimientos (UK), among others.

He collaborated with artists such as Chancha Vía Circuito, Martha Van Straaten, Sara Hebe, Tinariwen, Dj Peligro, Silverio...  more

Uji presents “Jenga Remixed” featuring Nicola Cruz, Rodrigo Gallardo and M.RUX

Uji’s single Jenga, from his debut release “Alborada”, has been re-imagined through the ears of international collaborators Nicola Cruz (Ecuador), Rodrigo Gallardo (Chile), and M.RUX (Germany). Each of the remixes has a unique approach and sound, baring the artistic mark of each of the three producers, but also showing the diversity of electronic music today. Jenga in particular is a track that lends itself to re-interpretation, Uji’s vocals are distinguishable yet highly addictive, and each of these interpretations has re-harmonized and re-imagined them, yet remain true to the tribal nature of the original. Nicola Cruz speeds things up with a remix that pushes into the uncharted territory of high energy percussive, tribal music, while M.RUX delivers a highly musical, mushroom raver that pulls some punches. Rodrigo Gallardo offers his signature dance floor pumping production taking us straight into late-night club culture. The EP lines up the three remixes along with the original album cut, which evokes a pre-verbal state reminiscent of tribal cultures.  The included acapella also invites producers to continue to explore and remix the track endlessly.

Atropolis represents a sonic city of transcultural boom. A native of New York, his blood blends the village heat of Cyprus, the lore of Northern Europe, and the mysticism of the Maori. Stirring with a degree in composition, Atropolis mixes trained expression in classical piano and jazz guitar in a pot of ethnomusicology. His alchemical fusion transcends over dance floors, grounding ears in the rhythms of their global body.
