After a few years of sublime excursions into the world of electronica, Dom Gentry aka
Attaque returns to the sound that made him a favourite of the likes of Erol Alkan,
Tiga and Diplo.
Of the new EP Dom says “During the lockdown, I went through some old hard drives
and found some tracks which I never put out. Coincidentally, I found a video of us
playing the lead track ‘Ghosts From The Past’, during a live techno set to 7000
people at the Transmusiclaes festival in France” (https://youtu.be/ybpXErHRIuo)
He continues “The title track was written especially for that Transmusicales show. I
had grown up going to see Chemical Brothers and Underworld and I wanted to create
a big track that mirrored that energy to make people completely lose it.”
The second track on the EP ‘A New Era’, is a DJ friendly cut that Dom describes as
his “secret weapon” in his DJ sets. Sets that have seen him grace the decks of some
of the best clubs in Europe, including Fabric, Social Club (Paris) and Razzmatazz in
Barcelona. Plus festivals including Secret Garden Party and Mysteryland in
Amsterdam.
With techno back in his heart, this is the first EP planned for the coming months.

" I'm a huge fan of Max's production and this was no different. I've never received so many stems for a remix.

 I found this arpeggiated piano part at the end of the track which sounded great looped up. I really wanted the track to build and then have a big pay off, kind of like setting it free from the cleverly edited structure of the original.

There is so much emotion to the original and I wanted to keep that vibe but sounding more live which we've adapted for the live show with love drums and guitars."

After extensive touring in 2014, Gentry built a new recording studio at a farm on the Essex-Suffolk border, producing for artists including Belgian techno maven Charlotte De Witte. But dissatisfied with the direction of his own material, in 2016 he set off around South East Asia with portable recording equipment. The inspiration came flooding out, and, now signed to Amplify Recordings, his new record Projection represents a bold new path for the producer.
Further developing the dance side of Attaque’s personality, the first of four new singles, the instrumental ‘Over Not Yet’ beckons us in with warm synth chords, gentle vocals and melancholy harp, before erupting into a rolling breakbeat, android bass and a hypnotic gated riff.
