Sunshine (feat. Ivan Villalobos)[Future Bass] [Shiftaxis Records Release]

Two Months is the sorta the namesake of the album. I feel it represents the highs from the Fall of 2018, those moments when things looked like they could only get better, the moments that would eventually take a down turn.

I like knowing what is going on in songs I like, so I am going to share how I got all these sounds, in case you like knowing that sorta thing as well.

The Guitars are all Fender Stratocaster MIM, running through some soul food, DD-7 delay, and a Boss CE-2 Chorus.

Bass is the Jazz Bass again, I think running through a Strymon Deco.

Now the synths are loaded. The glistening pad sound that occasionally stabs is a Korg Prologue. The choir patch, Wedding Bells, and Strings are all Roland JV-1080. The strings are hard to hear until the ed, but they do add to the sound. The Choir and Prologue sound like one thing but they arent, it sounds great though. Im sure most of these sounds were running through the Big Sky.

The Drums are Linndrum samples in Ableton.

The song has about 9 tracks in total, though none of the single sounds are ever layered with themselves for a bigger sound.

Two Months

The dark one of the EP, this one came to me at an odd time in the past year and has found a strange place in my heart as one of my favorites that I have written. It is incomplete, but cannot be completed at the same time. Something is missing, and that is really the basis of the songs message.

This one has very little going on. There were 4 tracks in Ableton.

The guitar is a Strat, with all the same effects as Two Months.

The Bass is a gritty J-Bass.

The Drums are a Boss DR-220.

Synths are not tricky. The ghostly vocal "lead" is the JV-1080. The spooky detuned bells are two layers of Microkorg tracks panned and detuned.
