Conrad Van Orton debuts on Attic Music for the 15th installment of label. 'Hypersomnia' is a collection of haunting techno tracks that sit on the darker side of the genre's spectrum without loosing it's dance floor appeal. 
The 4 track spanning record opens up with the title track ''Hypersomnia'' though techno sounds that revolve around a train-like whistle that repeats throughout the track's poignantbuild. ''Green Eyes'' is an intrusive piece of work that closes down the A-side with it's intense synth works.
On the B side we find ''Iteration''. This growling piece of music has an almost live sounding quality to it. ''Ending Point'' is the toughest piece of work of the record which revolves around a fierce bass sound and a potent drum work.

Evod and Oisel are back on limited catalog with a split vinyl release. Evod's A1 is a minimal, elegant and clean track, characterized by a simple, yet deep, melody. Drums are linear like the structure of the track, perfect for this kind of refined work. A2, on the other hand, is a dancefloor oriented track, fiery right from the start. Various piano sequences intersect with powerful 909 drums, recalling the original 90’s style. A3 is a perfect tool : a shattered piano melody changes constantly on a 4/4 beat, the result is a work that no listener will ever find boring. U4 by Oisel is full of randomic ambient sounds that dialogue with a deep bassline sequence and dynamic drums, resulting in a track that, almost spontaneously, is always changing. As Oisel experiments with different composing styles, U2 is suspended in the void: high frequencies raids, random bells melodies, granulated hi hats, confused samples of dialogues distinguish the track.

The Smithfield - 1854 (Pulso & Translate Remix)

Fabrizio Lapiana continues to offer up deep musical escape from these troubling times with another expertly crafted techno EP, Cantamen, on his own Attic Music label. It features four of his own original cuts and builds on the success of his latest release, Collective Chaos, back in March. 

Sleek opener 'Demons' is a mind melting and widescreen deep techno groove. Groaning synths creep across the face of the track as all manner of earthy and organic motifs drift by, as if you're racing through an underground network of caves. It's music for the mind as well as the body, and the hugely atmospheric 'Cantamen' is just the same - fizzing synth details and alien life forms fill the airwave with tension as the smooth and supple kick drums pound away down below. 

The hypnotic masterclass continues on 'Kura' with rattling snares and harder hitting drums making you move your body before coarse claps and a majestic arpeggiated synth hook repeats up top and takes you to another level of rapture. Last of all is the fantastic ‘Back Home', which has a skeletal electro groove run through with late night sci-fi pads. Its vast sense of cosmic infinity leaves you feeling floating adrift amongst the stars. 

These are four evocative and cinematic techno tracks that take you into another dimension.
